The day began with a significant pot, already standing at 135,000 as the board showed 5QKA. Sylwia Studniarz, in the big blind, checked to Pedro Marques, who bet 85,000. After taking her time to consider, Studniarz raised to 200,000. Marques, after a brief pause, opted to call.

The 2 on the river saw Studniarz deliberate before checking once more. Marques, after his period of thought, placed a hefty bet of 400,000. Studniarz made the call, leading to the showdown. Marques tabled 64, revealing a flush that sent Studniarz shaking her head as she mucked her cards—an early blow to her stack in the first hand of the day.

Carmelo Donato got his stack of 455,000 into the middle preflop with Joshua McSwiney trying to send him home.

Donato looked poised to find an early double-up on Day 4 of the Main Event if his aces could hold up. The runout of QJK92 gave Donato a bit of a sweat with his pocket aces, but in the end, they held up, and a large portion of McSwiney's stack was sent over to Donato.

Luka Sorainen
Luka Sorainen

Luka Sorainen opened the action from the cutoff to 30,000 and received calls from Dimitrios Gkatzas on the button, as well as Pierre Calamusa and Arjel Daci from the blinds.

The flop came AA4, and both Calamusa and Daci checked. Sorainen bet 25,000, and only Calamusa called.

The turn brought the 7, and this time Calamusa led out with a bet of 40,000. Sorainen took his time before making the call.

The river was the 9, and Calamusa moved all in, firing 200,000 to put Sorainen to the test. After a brief pause, Sorainen called. Calamusa revealed 33, but it wasn’t enough against Sorainen’s A8, securing him the pot.

Burke Turns Trips and Doubles Through De Rooij

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Kenny Burke
Kenny Burke

Thomas de Rooij opened to 30,000 from the hijack and Kenny Burke called out of the big blind.

They went to a flop of 9Q8 where Burke led out for 30,000, and De Rooij called.

An 8 paired the board on the turn and again Burke continued his aggression with a bet of 105,000. De Rooij thought it about for a while, but eventually dropped in a call.

The K completed the board and Burke, with 210,000 in his stack, bet 125,000. De Rooij looked at the stack of Burke and seeing he didn't have much behind, he shoved. Burke snap-called.

De Rooij showed 109 for a pair of nines, but Burke had turned trips with 108 to take the pot.

With roughly 75,000 in the middle on a board of J7K4, Brandon Sheils bet 75,000 from the small blind and Luke Porter called out of the big blind.

The K dropped on the river and Sheils thought briefly before putting out a bet of 75,000 again. Porter didn't think for too long before releasing his hand and surrendering the pot to Sheils.
