Mack Makes a Bigger Flush Against Runcan

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Adrian Mack
Adrian Mack

Paul Runcan opened the button to 65,000 and Adrian Mack called from the big blind.

The flop came down A10A and both players checked, then Mack said. "Is there a pay jump yet?".

On the 3 turn, Mack led out for 50,000 and Runcan raised to 200,000. Mack immediately called.

A 5 on the river put a fourth diamond on board, and Mack checked it over. Runcan then fired 300,000, and Mack snap-called.

Runcan showed 76 for a flush, and Mack turned over the A first and then the J. "Thank god I had the jack," said Mack.

"You called before you knew you had it?" asked Georgios Vrakas.

"I wouldn't be playing an EPT Main Event if I didn't know what I had," replied Mack.

Kapeller’s Aggression Forces Ruggeri to Fold

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

In the final hand before the break, Umberto Ruggeri opened the action with a raise to 50,000 from early position, and Siegfried Kapeller defended from the big blind.

Both players checked the Q39 flop, keeping the pot modest.

The 10 turn brought some fireworks as Kapeller check-raised Ruggeri’s 65,000 bet to 205,000. After some deliberation, Ruggeri made the call.

When the 9 landed on the river, Kapeller moved all in for around 2,200,000. Ruggeri tanked, using two time bank cards, but ultimately folded, conceding the sizable pot to Kapeller.

Alexander Sokolovsky
Alexander Sokolovsky

Alexander Sokolovsky raised to 60,000 from the cutoff and Carmelo Donato defended out of the big blind.

The two players checked a flop of 857 to see the 3 fall on the turn. Donato led out for 35,000 and Sokolovsky called.

Donato bet 180,000 when the 4 hit the river and was snap-called by Sokolovsky.

Donato sheepishly turned over J10 for a busted flush draw. Sokolovsky showed A6 for a rivered straight and the pot was pushed towards him.

McSwiney Sniffs Out Bergstrom's Bluff

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Joshua McSwiney opened from the button to 60,000 with only Anton Bergstrom calling from the big blind.

Bergstrom check-called a bet of 35,000 from Mcswiney on the J104 flop.

The two players checked a 8 turn for the J to land on the river. Bergstrom fired out a bet of 105,000, which caused McSwiney to go into the tank. After going through one of his time bank cards, McSwiney made the call.

Bergstrom showed a busted flush draw with 92. McSwiney had that beat with 87 for just a pair of eights.

McSwiney Sends Oberlieben to the Rail

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Ken Oberlieben
Ken Oberlieben

With the board showing 3Q710, Ken Oberlieben checked from the big blind and then faced a bet of 50,000 from Joshua McSwiney out of the cutoff. Oberlieben check-shoved for roughly 250,000, and McSwiney snap-called.

Ken Oberlieben: 107 All in
Joshua McSwiney: QJ

Oberlieben had turned two pair against the top pair of McSwiney and was in great shape to double up if he could fade the river. However, the board-pairing 3 dropped on the river to give McSwiney a higher two pair. Oberlieben wished the table good luck as he was sent to the payout desk.

Wojciechowski Spikes the River to Stay Alive

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Pawel Wojciechowski
Pawel Wojciechowski

Pawel Wojciechowski shoved for 325,000 from under the gun and when the action got to Lasse Hansen in the big blind, he called.

Pawel Wojciechowski: K10 All in
Lasse Hansen: KJ

Wojciechowski was way behind and a big favorite to be eliminated. The flop of 3A2 didn't give much help, but the K brought around some chop possibilities. However, instead of a chop, Wojciechowski took it all on the 10 river as he made two pair, much to the dismay of Hansen.

Ruggeri’s Flopped Flush Dents Kapeller

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Umberto Ruggeri

Siegfried Kapeller opened the action with a raise to 60,000 from the button, and Umberto Ruggeri defended his big blind.

The flop came 10A2, and Ruggeri check-called Kapeller’s 40,000 continuation bet.

On the 9 turn, Kapeller ramped up the pressure with a bet of 210,000. Ruggeri, unfazed, made the call.

The 4 river saw Ruggeri check again, and Kapeller fired a final bet of 400,000. Ruggeri called without hesitation, prompting Kapeller to reveal AK for top pair. However, Ruggeri turned over J8 for a flopped flush, scooping the pot and leaving Kapeller visibly deflated.
