Oz Wins a Flip to Survive

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Barak Oz
Barak Oz

Anton Bergstrom raised to 240,000 from the hijack and Barak Oz shoved from the small blind for almost 1,200,000. When it got back to Bergstrom, he called.

Barak Oz: AQ All in
Anton Bergstrom: JJ

Oz was flipping for his tournament life and got his race off to a good start on the A67 flop. An A on the turn improved him to trips, and left Bergstrom with just two outs to thin down the field. Instead, a 10 rolled off on the river, and Oz earned himself a double-up.

Paul Runcan
Paul Runcan

Paul Runcan raised with KQ to 240,000 from the hijack and Siarhei Alontsau defended with 55 out of the big blind.

The flop came down AQ8 and Alontsau decided to check-call a bet of 150,000 by Runcan.

Alontsau checked for a second time when the 6 appeared on the turn. Runcan bet 410,000 and Alontsau carved out the call.

The J dropped on the river and Alontsau checked for the last time. Runcan bet 1,200,000 and Alontsau quickly folded.

Short-Stack Ninja Park Stays Alive

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Jaehyung Park
Jaehyung Park

Jaehyung Park shoved from the cutoff for 1,080,000 and Paul Runcan called from the big blind.

Jaehyung Park: A10 All in
Paul Runcan: KQ

Park had his nose in front, but needed to sweat the runout as there were still five cards to come. A 329 flop didn't give Runcan anything to work with, and neither did the 9 turn. Park just needed to fade one more card to double up, and he managed it as the A river gave him top pair.

Ice-Cold Runcan Pulls Off Insane Bluff on Kapeller

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Paul Runcan
Paul Runcan

Paul Runcan made it 240,000 from the button and Siegfried Kapeller called out of the big blind with 63.

They saw a flop of 49A where Kapeller check-called a bet of 200,000 from Runcan. On the J turn, again Kapeller checked, and Runcan fired 525,000. Kapeller then put in a raise to 1,400,000, and Runcan called.

When the 4 paired the board on the river, Kapeller burned through three time bank cards before he slid out a bet of 1,700,000. Runcan, immediately moved all in, which put Kapeller to the test for his remaining stack of almost 1,600,000.

After using another time bank, Kapeller elected to fold his flush. Runcan asked Kapeller if he wanted to see his cards, Kapeller agreed, then Runcan showed 32 for a stone cold bluff.

For a moment, time seemed to stand still. What just happened?

Chaos.

Alontsau Benifits From a Cooler

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Siarhei Alontsau
Siarhei Alontsau

On the very next hand, Siarhei Alontsau raised to 240,000 from early position and Paul Runcan three-bet to 680,000 from the cutoff. Alontsau four-bet shoved for 2,450,000 and Runcan snap-called.

Siarhei Alontsau: AA All in
Paul Runcan: KK

Alontsau was on the fortunate end of the ultimate cooler and just had to fade a king to earn the double-up.

A flop of 955 kept Alontsau ahead with his bullets. The 10 turn meant only a king on the river would end Alontsau's Main Event. However, a safe 5 dropped to give Alontsau the winner with a full house and he doubled up through Runcan.

Siegfried Kapeller Eliminated in 8th Place (€137,900)

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Siegfried Kapeller
Siegfried Kapeller

Siegfried Kapeller shoved from the hijack for 1,510,000 and Pedro Marques called from the cutoff.

Siegfried Kapeller: AQ All in
Pedro Marques: 99

Kapeller, who was sitting comfortable just moments ago, was now a coinflip away from being eliminated. His hopes of survival were severely dashed when Marques made a set on the 97J flop, but some hope arrived in the form of 10 on the turn as Kapeller picked up an open-ended straight draw. However, the A river wasn't what he needed, and Kapeller hit the rail.

Just like that, Kapeller’s rollercoaster journey came to an end.
