Pedro Marques raised to 120,000 from early position and Alexander Sokolovsky three-bet jammed for 890,000 from the cutoff. After it folded back to Marques, he called to put Sokolovsky at risk.

Sokolovsky was in a great position to double-up if he could fade an ace or some hearts. The 7♣3♦Q♥ flop kept Sokolovsky ahead with his Cowboys. The 6♦ turn meant only an ace on the river would end his Main Event. A brutal A♠ dropped on the river to give Marques the winner, and send Sokolovsky to the cashier's desk in twelfth place

Siegfried Kapeller made it 120,000 from the button and Tjenno Eskes called in the small blind.

On the K♦3♥4♠ flop, Eskes check-called a bet of 225,000 from Kapeller to see the 6♣ turn, where again Eskes check-called after Kapeller bet 410,000.

When the 7♦ dropped on the river, Eskes checked, and after a long through, Kapeller knuckled back.

Eskes then showed K♠Q♠ for top pair, and Kapeller mucked.

Siarhei Alontsau raised to 120,000 from the cutoff with Anton Bergstrom defending out of the big blind.

Bergstrom check-called a bet of 80,000 from Alontsau on the 5♣J♣2♥ flop.

The turn came the Q♥ and Bergstrom check-called another bet from Alontsau, this time for 150,000.

The two players checked the 8♥ river and Bergstrom flipped over the winner with Q♣10♦ for a pair of queens. Alontsau pushed 6♠6♦ into the muck and the pot was sent to Bergstrom.

The flop fell 10♣9♦5♦ which got a check from Runcan, and a bet of 85,000 by Marques. Runcan called.

The 4♥ came on the turn and both players checked to see the 6♦ come in the river. Runcan bet 140,000 and Marques folded his hand

PokerStars and Club Barrière have announced the cancellation of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris 2025, which was originally scheduled to run from February 12-23 at Le Palais des Congrès.

The cancellation is part of a broader uncertainty surrounding Paris’s gaming landscape. Recent developments indicate that gaming clubs in the city, which have operated under strict regulations since 2019, are at risk of closure by the end of the year.

The announcement comes as a shock, particularly after the news comes exactly a month since the unveiling of the 2025 EPT schedule.

EPT Paris was slated to kick off the tour's new season, returning for its third year after record-breaking attendance in 2024.

The flop fell J♦6♣5♦ and Alontsau check-called a bet of 90,000 from Runcan.

Alontsau opted to lead out for 160,000 when the 8♣ came on the turn. Runcan made the call.

The A♣ fell on the river and both players checked. Alontsau showed 7♥6♥ for a pair of sixes, and was second best to the J♣10♦ of Runcan for a pair of jacks.

After losing around 230,000 chips to Barak Oz in the previous hand, Siegfried Kapeller bounced back with style. Sitting under the gun, Kapeller opened to 120,000 and picked up calls from Oz in the small blind and Jaehyung Park in the big blind.

The flop brought J♣J♥J♦, and all three players opted to check, keeping the pot controlled.

On the 7♦ turn, Park seized the initiative, leading out for 85,000. Kapeller was the only caller, and they went heads-up to the river.

The 6♣ appeared on the river, prompting another quick bet from Park, this time for 90,000. Kapeller took his time before raising to 210,000, leaving himself with about 490,000 behind. Park mulled over the decision, burning a time bank card before eventually making the call.

Kapeller revealed K♥J♠ for quad jacks, scooping the pot in dramatic fashion and signaling his comeback.
