Peter Schmidt opened to 250,000 in early position and Efrim Erdinc three-bet jammed a stack of around 2,200,000 from late position. Schmidt called with a bigger stack.
Efrim Erdinc: 10♦10♠
Peter Schmidt: Q♦Q♥
Erdinc was behind by several pips and got no help from the flop of 3♠5♠4♣. However, the turn brought the 10♣ to give him a big lead as the J♦ river bricked off to earn him a crucial double.
Fredrik Hegh moved all in for 1,500,000 from the cutoff and Kazuhiko Yotsushika took a minute before deciding to fold on the button. Sven Stok also gave up the small blind, but Joseph Bardakji snap-called in the big blind.
Fredrik Hegh: K♠10♠
Joseph Bardakji: A♠Q♣
The A♣J♠8♦ flop gave Bardakji top pair and Hegh a straight draw. Hegh hit a pair on the K♦ turn, but it wasn't enough as the J♣ river kept Bardakji in the lead and sent Hegh to the rail.
Ben Zech opened to 250,000 in early position and Tor Skardi called in the small blind.
Both players checked on the K♥6♥Q♣ flop and again on the J♠ turn. Both players checked again on the 2♣ river and Skardi showed 5♦5♥ to win the pot with a pair of fives.
Joseph Bardakji raised to 250,000 in the hijack, Pierre Simonin moved all in for 1,550,000 in the big blind, and Bardakji called.
Pierre Simonin: K♥J♦
Joseph Bardakji: 6♥6♣
Simonin pulled ahead on the K♦5♠5♥ flop with two pair, while the rest of the board came 9♣7♥ to earn him a double up.
At another table, Ben Zech and Daniele Cuomo went to the turn on a board of 7♣6♠K♠Q♠ when Zech bet 400,000 from under the gun. Cuomo called in the big blind.
Zech bet another 600,000 on the 5♥ river and Cuomo quickly called. Zech turned over K♦6♦ for two pair, and Cuomo mucked.
Kazuhiko Yotsushika opened to 250,000 in middle position and Thibaud Martin defended in the big blind.
Martin checked on the flop of 6♥7♠5♣ and Yotsushika continued for 200,000. Martin check-raised to 550,000 and Yotsushika called.
Martin then bet 900,000 on the A♥ turn and Yotsushika raised all in. Martin snap-called with a stack of just over 5,800,000.
Thibaud Martin: 9♦8♦
Kazuhiko Yotsushika: A♣3♠
Yotsushika had turned top pair but was drawing stone dead against the flopped nut straight of Martin, who cheered as the meaningless Q♥ river bricked off to earn him a big double through the no-longer chip leader.
Heads-up on a flop of Q♥3♦3♠, Simon Wiciak bet 125,000 from the button and Tor Skardi called in the big blind.
Wiciak bet another 575,000 on the J♦ turn and Skardi again called. The river was the 2♠ and Skardi led out for 200,000. Wiciak snap-folded and Skardi took the pot.
Three-handed on a flop of 9♠3♥5♣, Yakiv Syzghanov bet 250,000 from the hijack and both Chin Wei Lim in the cutoff and big blind Jakub Sterba called.
The turn was the Q♣ and Syzghanov bet another 850,000. Only Lim called this time and the 2♦ fell on the river.
Syzghanov slowed down and checked, and Lim took a minute before checking back. Syzghanov showed Q♦5♦ for two pair, and Lim flashed A♥Q♥ before mucking.
At the same time at another table, Alessandro Mazzilli had moved all in for 1,200,000 from under the gun as action folded around to Daniele Cuomo who snap-called in the big blind.
Alessandro Mazzilli: 8♠8♦
Daniele Cuomo: A♥J♥
Cuomo hit top pair on the J♦6♦9♥ flop to take the lead, while the rest of the board came 2♥K♠ to send Mazzilli to the rail.
Abdelhakim Zoufri was also eliminated to bring the field down to the final four tables.
