Petrangelo Takes Two in a Row
Nick Petrangelo opened to 4,500 on the button and Teun Mulder three-bet the small blind to 20,000. Petrangelo called.
Both checked the 8♣10♦5♦ flop to the 7♦ turn, where Muldur checked and then folded when Petrangelo bet 17,000.
Petrangelo was involved in the very next hand as Kayhan Mokri opened from early position to 4,000. Petrangelo called in the cutoff, Sameh Elamawy called from the small blind, and Klemens Roiter called in the big blind.
The flop came 8♥K♠7♥, which checked to Petrangelo, who bet 5,000. Only Roiter and Mokri called to the 7♠ turn, where they all checked.
When the 6♣ hit the river, the action heated up as Roiter led for 10,000 and Mokri made it 45,000. Petrangelo used a time bank before he cold-called, and Roiter eventually let his cards go.
Mokri then tabled a straight with 5♠4♠, but Petrangelo had that beat as he held 10♥9♥ for a bigger straight.
