Sebastian Ionita completed from the small blind before Thomas Eychenne raised to 2,400,000 out of the big blind. Ionita thought for a few moments, then limp-jammed for 14,450,000. Eychenne snap-called with the chance to win the Main Event.

Eychenne had been running over Ionita during heads-up play and just needed to dodge a six on the runout to be crowned the champion.

The 3♦5♥9♦ flop helped neither player, so Eychenne's big slick was still in the lead. A Q♥ on the turn meant Eychenne was one card away from lifting the trophy.

The K♦ peeled off on the river to give Eychenne top pair, and he ran over to his rail to celebrate winning the 2025 EPT Barcelona Main Event. Ionita was forced to settle for a runner-up finish and a seven-figure payday.

Sebastian Ionita raised to 1,000,000 on the button before Umberto Zaffagnini moved all in for 11,225,000 in the small blind. Thomas Eychenne in the big blind confirmed the amount and reshoved for 16,325,000, and Ionita gave up A♣8♦.

Zaffagnini was racing for his tournament life as the flop came K♥10♣8♥, giving Eychenne additional outs with a straight draw. The 7♠ turn left Zaffagnini a card away from a double up as he covered his face with his scarf and could barely watch as the dealer prepared to turn over the last card.

The river was a devastating Q♦ as Eychenne made his straight, sending the Italian out in third place for €641,200.

Ionita and Eychenne are taking a 20-minute break before beginning heads-up play.

Brzezinski once again ran over to his rail as he was looking for an ace to beat Zaffagnini's tens. The J♥10♠8♦ flop gave Zaffagnini a set, while Brzezinski was left with a straight draw.

The J♦ turn improved Zaffagnini to a full house and Brzezinski was already drawing dead. The 6♥ completed the board on the river and Brzezinski was sent to the rail in fourth place.

With three players remaining, levels will be reduced to 15 hands.

Anton Suarez raised to 500,000 on the button and Thomas Eychenne called in the big blind.

Both players checked the 10♥5♦3♠ flop. Suarez then bet 750,000 on the Q♥ turn and Eychenne called.

The river was the 5♣ and Suarez bet 2,500,000. Eychenne used a time bank before raising to 5,000,000, enough to put Suarez all in.

Suarez went into the tank and ended up burning through three time banks, eventually calling for his last 1,030,000. He showed A♥Q♣ for two pair, but Eychenne had rivered trips holding 5♥4♥ to win the pot and send Suarez to the rail in sixth place.
