The full board of K♦2♣A♣6♦7♠ was showing and the chips had found themselves in the middle, with a pot of around 100,000 up for grabs.

Lopes showed A♦3♦ for a pair of aces and a busted flush draw, but that was no good as Yajima held K♣K♥ for a set of kings to scoop it, which sent his stack to around 160,000.

Cesar Garcia is seated at the same table and has a stack of around 270,000 as the day's end nears.

Ibrahim Senoussi three-bet to 8,000 on the button as action went on Nuri Hadioglu in the big blind who four-bet to 25,000. The action folded back to Senoussi who shoved all in, and Hadioglu snap-called for 63,000.

Hadioglu had woken up with kings and improved to a set on the A♣Q♠K♣ flop, while Senoussi picked up a straight draw. That small glimmer of hope Senoussi had completely evaporated after the K♦ fell on the turn to give Hadioglu quads.

"I think that's going to win," tablemate Tony Dunst observed. The river was the Q♦ and Hadioglu doubled up.

Gary Hasson opened from under the gun and Leonardo Pfeiff three-bet to 6,000 from the next seat. When it got back to Hasson, he called.

They went to the 3♠10♥7♥ flop, where Hasson checked it over and Pfeiff bet 3,000. Hasson then shoved for 15,100, and Pfeiff called.

Hasson had the lead with his pocket eights, but needed to fade a ton of outs as Pfeiff held a flush draw along with overcards.

At another table, Feng Yu raised to 2,600 on the button and Ricard Gonzalez three-bet to 11,600 in the small blind. Yu then moved all in.

Gonzalez spent several minutes agonizing over the decision but eventually gave up his hand. "Can I show?" Yu asked.

"Nobody is stopping you," tablemate Bryce Yockey replied, and Yu burst out laughing as he flipped over J♣8♥ while taking in the pot.

In the last hand O'Dwyer was caught in, there were 45,000 in the middle on a Q♦5♠J♦ flop and his bet of 10,000 from the cutoff was enough to make Wuai-Cheng Tsang fold the button.

Elsewhere, Simeon Naydenov made it 2,500 to go from the hijack and David Coleman called the cutoff. Marco D'Ippolito three-bet to 8,200 from the small blind, which only Naydenov called.

The flop came Q♠Q♣2♦ and a simple continuation-bet of 4,500 got the job done for D'Ippolito as Naydenov folded.

Cesar Garcia, who was the chip leader after Day 1b of EPT Monte Carlo earlier this year, was challenging to do it again as he built up a stack of nearly 300,000 before tangling in a pot with Josep Valls.

Kayhan Mokri opened to 2,500 under the gun and Garcia three-bet to 6,500 in the hijack. Valls then four-bet to 19,500 in the cutoff, Mokri folded, while Garcia called.

The flop came K♦3♥8♣ and Valls bet 6,600. Garcia called once more to see the 4♦ turn, where Valls bet another 13,500. Garcia folded this time and took a slight hit to his big stack.
