Yajima's Cowboys Lasso Lopes' Stack

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Idalino Lopes was standing up from his seat as he watched all of his chips head over to Shinya Yajima.

The full board of K2A67 was showing and the chips had found themselves in the middle, with a pot of around 100,000 up for grabs.

Lopes showed A3 for a pair of aces and a busted flush draw, but that was no good as Yajima held KK for a set of kings to scoop it, which sent his stack to around 160,000.

Cesar Garcia is seated at the same table and has a stack of around 270,000 as the day's end nears.

Just Quads For Hadioglu

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Nuri Hadioglu
Nuri Hadioglu

Ibrahim Senoussi three-bet to 8,000 on the button as action went on Nuri Hadioglu in the big blind who four-bet to 25,000. The action folded back to Senoussi who shoved all in, and Hadioglu snap-called for 63,000.

Ibrahim Senoussi: 1010

Hadioglu had woken up with kings and improved to a set on the AQK flop, while Senoussi picked up a straight draw. That small glimmer of hope Senoussi had completely evaporated after the K fell on the turn to give Hadioglu quads.

"I think that's going to win," tablemate Tony Dunst observed. The river was the Q and Hadioglu doubled up.

Hasson Falls Late

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Gary Hasson opened from under the gun and Leonardo Pfeiff three-bet to 6,000 from the next seat. When it got back to Hasson, he called.

They went to the 3107 flop, where Hasson checked it over and Pfeiff bet 3,000. Hasson then shoved for 15,100, and Pfeiff called.

Gary Hasson: 88 All in
Leonardo Pfeiff: QJ

Hasson had the lead with his pocket eights, but needed to fade a ton of outs as Pfeiff held a flush draw along with overcards.

It was instant service for Pfeiff as the 4 hit the turn, which left Hasson drawing dead. A 3 on the river sealed it, and Hasson was sent on his way.

East Flops the Nuts to Double Off Lin

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Ren Lin and Jareth East built a pot of around 15,000 as they headed to the turn on a board of 7810J. East then got his last 22,400 in from middle position, and Lin put him at risk in the cutoff.

Lin showed AJ for top pair, but East had turned the nut straight with Q9. The river was the Q, and East doubled up.

Salazar Sanchez Sends Out Seward; Yu Four-Bet Shoved With What?

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Mauricio Salazar Sanchez raised to 2,500 in middle position, Nicholas Seward stuck in his last 20,000 from the cutoff, and Salazar Sanchez called.

Nicholas Seward: 77 All in
Mauricio Salazar Sanchez: 1010

Seward was crushed by Salazar Sanchez's tens and was left heading to a late-night exit after the board came AJ8Q8 to lock up the pot for his opponent.

At another table, Feng Yu raised to 2,600 on the button and Ricard Gonzalez three-bet to 11,600 in the small blind. Yu then moved all in.

Gonzalez spent several minutes agonizing over the decision but eventually gave up his hand. "Can I show?" Yu asked.

"Nobody is stopping you," tablemate Bryce Yockey replied, and Yu burst out laughing as he flipped over J8 while taking in the pot.

O'Dwyer and D'Ippolito with Towers

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Steve O'Dwyer is moving through the day nicely and has around 270,000 at the end of the penultimate level.

In the last hand O'Dwyer was caught in, there were 45,000 in the middle on a Q5J flop and his bet of 10,000 from the cutoff was enough to make Wuai-Cheng Tsang fold the button.

Elsewhere, Simeon Naydenov made it 2,500 to go from the hijack and David Coleman called the cutoff. Marco D'Ippolito three-bet to 8,200 from the small blind, which only Naydenov called.

The flop came QQ2 and a simple continuation-bet of 4,500 got the job done for D'Ippolito as Naydenov folded.

Valls Slows Garcia's Quest For Another Day 1 Chip Lead

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Cesar Garcia
Cesar Garcia

Cesar Garcia, who was the chip leader after Day 1b of EPT Monte Carlo earlier this year, was challenging to do it again as he built up a stack of nearly 300,000 before tangling in a pot with Josep Valls.

Kayhan Mokri opened to 2,500 under the gun and Garcia three-bet to 6,500 in the hijack. Valls then four-bet to 19,500 in the cutoff, Mokri folded, while Garcia called.

The flop came K38 and Valls bet 6,600. Garcia called once more to see the 4 turn, where Valls bet another 13,500. Garcia folded this time and took a slight hit to his big stack.
