Brazil's Joao Nascimento is the last player through to Round 4 and the final of the Spin & Go Championship Live after a hard-fought battle on the feature table.
He was the first player to four wins, ahead of Ilari Tiainen from Finland (3 wins) and Axel Piñeiro from Argentina (2 wins). He fought back valiantly from a short stack in the final game against Piñeiro who was trying to keep his hopes alive.
In the last hand he called the shove with J♣2♣ against the Argentinian who held A♦K♣. The board came 7♥3♠2♦3♣9♥ and he advances to tonight's final which starts at approximately 19:00 local time.
This confirms the final table as:
Here's a table that shows not just that Krystian Lisowski was the first to lock up his spot in the Final, but that he's also won the most money courtesy of Spins!
| Rank | Player | Prize Money |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Krystian Lisowski | € 20,000 |
| 2 | Ilari Tiainen | € 9,000 |
| 3 | Guilherme Kleist | € 5,500 |
| 4 | Axel Pineiro | € 1,800 |
| 5 | David Xarau | € 1,000 |
| 6 | Claudio Moraru | € 300 |
After a long back and forth at his table, Guilherme Kleist has locked up a spot in tonight's Spin & Go Championship Live final.
He defeated Romania's Claudiu Moraru and Spain's David Xarau to advance. Moraru had made it to three wins alongside Kleist, with Xarau behind on one.
Xarau secured victory to close the gap to one, and then went heads-up with Kleist to hopefully force a one game-decider, with all three players having won three games. However, Kleist secured victory with his wife watching on, and he can look forward to playing in the final with a chance to win €100,000.
In a post-match interview, James Hartigan asked Kleist how many Spins he'd played in his lifetime.
"Oh I don't even know," he said, before conceding it was in the hundreds of thousands.
We have our first finalist in the Spin & Go Live Championship and it's Krystian Lisowski.
He notched up four wins from five against AndyPSX and Cendoya Ruiz, with Ruiz the only other player to notch a win. He dispatched both Spaniards in just over an hour to secure his place in the final.
Although he doesn’t consider himself a full-time grinder, Lisowski admits he put in more volume than usual to secure a spot in the Spin & Go Championship, and secured his place during the last leaderboard.
“It was really cool playing on stage for the first time,” he said of yesterday’s live action. “I hope PokerStars continues to run tournaments like this. It’s a great experience even if it takes a lot of work to organize.”
The excitement of making the final nine meant a restless night for Lisowski, who only managed a few hours of sleep, though he still felt energized heading into the decisive day. Away from poker, he invests in real estate, managing several flats.
As for his immediate plan before the final? Lisowski kept it simple: “Go to sleep.”
From a starting field of 81, only nine players remain in the Spin & Go Championship Live at Casino Barcelona. After two full rounds of play on Saturday, the finalists have been decided and will return today to continue the chase for the €100,000 top prize.
While big names such as André Akkari, Jason Koon, Alejandro “Papo MC” Lococo and Nick Walsh fell short of Day 2, Spain’s own AndyPSX will fly the PokerStars flag among the final nine. He is joined by Claudiu Moraru, Cendoya Ruiz, Krystian Lisowski, David Xarau, Guilherme Kleist, Ilari Tiainen, Axel Piñeiro and João Nascimento, each now just two rounds away from becoming champion.
Round 3 begins today at 13:00 local time with three tables of three-handed action, and the winners advancing to the Grand Final. Fans can follow the coverage live on the PokerStars YouTube channel from 13:30.
