Amsellem’s Flushed to Double-Up

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Jacob Amsellem
Jacob Amsellem

Ehsan Amiri opened from under the gun with a raise to 1,200, and Jacob Amsellem in the cutoff made the call. Leonard Herrmann, sitting in the big blind, three-bet to 5,400, and both players called.

The K2A flop saw Herrmann lead out for 3,000. Amiri called, but Amsellem had other ideas and raised to 16,000. Herrmann checked Amsellem’s remaining stack before calling, while Amiri folded.

The 8 turn brought more action as Amsellem shoved all in after Herrmann checked. Herrmann quickly called, showing AA for a set, while Amsellem revealed J8 for a flopped flush.

Herrmann needed another ace or an eight on the river to scoop the pot, but the 6 river sealed it giving Amsellem a big double-up.

Lewis Takes it on the River

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Romain Lewis opened from early position to 1,200, which received calls from Iulian Blebea on the button, and the player in the big blind.

Action then checked to Blebea on the 105K flop, who placed a bet of 1,200. The big blind folded, but Lewis called.

Both players then checked the J turn.

The river was a board-pairing, flush-completing J, and saw Lewis re-take the betting lead, putting 8,000 into the middle.

Blebea quickly folded, and the pot was pushed to Lewis.

Eric Afriat
Eric Afriat

Eric Afriat, who has been among the chipleaders in the room since the start of Day 1b, opened under the gun, and Onur Gur defended his big blind. Afriat continued with a bet of 1,500 on the 6K6 flop, which Gur check-called.

Afriat sized up slightly to 1,800 on the 10, receiving another check-call from his opponent. Finally, the J river was checked by both.

"Ace-high," Gur declared as he tabled A3. Afriat showed down 109 for a pair of tens, and scooped up yet another pot. Shortly after the hand, Gur was eliminated from the Main Event.

Stoica Flops Quads to Down Haraldstad

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Joachim Haraldstad
Joachim Haraldstad

After an earlier open-raise, Joachim Haraldstad flat-called in the small blind. Roman Stoica then squeezed in a three-bet from the big blind, to which the initial raiser folded.

Haraldstad had other plans, however, and jammed in his stack of 22,000, which Stoica snapped off.

Joachim Haraldstad: 44 All in
Roman Stoica: AA

Haraldstad fours were stone dead after the A2A flop presented quad aces for Stoica. The K4 runout was rendered meaningless as Haraldstad headed to the rail.
