Maugini Finds the Flush on the River

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With around 13,800 already in the pot and the board showing 765K, both players checked.

Orpen Kisacikoglu checked again on the 8 river, and Vittorio Maugini took a moment to double-check his cards before firing a hefty bet of 18,000. Kisacikoglu also glanced back at his hand before making the call, only to see Maugini turn over Q9 for a rivered flush to claim the pot.

Grodek Back with a Bang

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In one of the first few hands back from the break, Stanislaw Grodek raised to 2,400 from under the gun. Igor Pihela made the call from the cutoff, and Fintan Hand also called from the big blind.

Hand and Grodek then each checked on the 7Q9 flop, allowing Pihela to take over the betting lead, doing so for 4,000. Hand made the call before Grodek check-raised to 12,000. Pihela called, but this time Hand got out of the way.

The dealer added the 10 turn to the board, and after a little time to consider his options, Grodek continued with a bet of 15,000.

Pihela gave the situation serious consideration but ultimately chose to fold.

Barone Rivers Winner

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Alessandro Barone tossed in a raise to 2,500 in the hijack. Andrea Melluzzo upped the ante to 6,500 on the button, and Barone called once it had folded back to him.

Melluzzo continued for 3,500 on the A5K flop, seeing Barone quickly match the bet. The duo then checked the 2 turn, after which the 10 river emerged from the deck.

Barone bet 4,000 and was snapped off by Melluzzo. Barone tabled K10 for two pair, and Melluzzo could only sigh as he showed the A and mucked his other card.

Dream Runout

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Alexandru Cinca kicked the action off with a raise to 2,500 from under the gun. A player in middle position called, and Matiss Celmins completed from the big blind.

Cinca continued for 3,700 on the 327 flop, which saw the first caller fold and Celmins call.

Both players then checked the 2 turn before Celmins took over the betting lead on the J, putting out a bet of 12,500.

Cinca spent a bit of time deciding what to do, ultimately choosing to call. It was bad news this time, as Celmins flipped over A3, showing he had hit running cards to make a flush.

Unable to beat that, Cinca returned his cards to the dealer face down.

Paawan Bansal
Paawan Bansal

For the second hand in a row, Laszlo Bujtas opened the action, making it 2,500 under the gun. The big stack on the table was Paawan Bansal, and he three-bet to 9,000 in the cutoff.

Alejandro Lococo in the small blind thought for a bit before he four-bet to 19,500. Eric Afriat was in the big blind and inquired about Lococo's stack. After about a minute in thought, Afriat folded, and so did Bujtas.

Bansal then announced an all-in bet, and Lococo instantly called off his stack of 55,000.

Paawan Bansal: AA

The 565 flop gave Lococo some outs, but no more diamonds arrived on the 10 turn or Q river.

The Argentinian PokerStars Ambassador immediately headed to the exit, while Afriat lamented his folded queens, which would have won a monster pot had he called.

Teusl Shows Patience, Then Strikes

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Jessica Teusl
Jessica Teusl

With around 14,000 already in the pot and the board showing Q29K, Jessica Teusl checked to Bernd Gleissner, who bet 4,800. Teusl called.

When the 7 hit the river, Teusl checked again, and Gleissner fired a hefty 65,000, putting her at risk with only about 18,000 behind. Teusl folded, conceding the pot to Gleissner.

In the next three hands, Teusl turned up the pressure, winning every pot without showing her cards against almost the whole table, quickly rebuilding a healthy stack of around 47,000.
