Docherty Ungrateful For Chouity's Favor

Heads-up on a board of J♣7♣A♠2♣, David Docherty bet 11,000 from the button and Nicolas Chouity called in the cutoff.

The river was the 10♠ and Docherty moved all in. Chouity, with around 25,000 remaining, tanked for several minutes before calling off his last chips.

Docherty turned over A♣10♦ for two pair and Chouity threw A♦3♥ into the muck. Docherty, who had been using Chouity's phone charger, made sure to return it before the 2010 champion of this event made his exit.

"Never feels right when you bust the guy whose charger you've been using," tablemate Martin Zamani observed.

Schieffer had picked up aces and Zagorski found no miracles on the 4♠7♦9♥10♦10♥ board. The two players got up and exchanged a handshake as Zagorski prepared to make his exit, but a count showed he had Schieffer's 40,000 covered by just 1,000.

Tjan Tepeh raised to 2,000 in the hijack and Mohamed-Said Taghla called in the cutoff. Anton Kraous then three-bet to 8,500 on the button and only Tepeh called.

The flop came 8♣3♥5♠ and Kraous bet 5,000. Tepeh then raised to 17,000 and Kraous called.

Tepeh bet another 18,000 on the 10♥ turn and Kraous again called. The river was the K♥ and Tepeh slowed down and checked. Kraous then bet 25,000 and Tepeh took a minute before folding.

Kraous showed him A♠3♦ for a pair of threes as he took the pot.

Mateos Doubles Through Konnikova

Adrian Mateos open-raised under the gun and picked up calls from Jozef Cibicek in the small blind and Maria Konnikova in the big blind.

The flop came 3♠5♦7♦ and action checked to Mateos, who made a continuation-bet of 2,400. Cibicek folded and Konnikova check-raised to 6,800. Mateos moved all in for 20,300 and Konnikova called.

Konnikova had 9♣7♥ for top pair, but Mateos turned over A♦A♠ for pocket aces.

The turn came the J♣ and river another blank, the Q♣. Mateos held to win the pot and doubled his stack.

Masashi Oya and Alex Kulev were heads-up on a flop of 4♥2♦5♠ with around 13,000 in the pot when Kulev got his last 20,000 in the middle from the small blind, and Oya put him at risk from middle position.

Kulev was ahead with his aces, while Oya was chasing a straight draw. The 8♥ turn gave Oya his straight and Kulev was already drawing dead before the 9♠ river, and on his way to the exit.

At the same time at another table, Florian Duta was all in for 15,200 from the big blind and up against Dmitrii Prusov in the hijack.

Prusov hit a pair on the J♣3♣7♠ flop to take the lead, while the turn came the 9♦. Duta was down to just two outs and already standing up from his seat, but the 2♣ spiked on the river to give him a set and a miracle double up.

"Stand-up works every time," Duta said, sitting back down.

Konnikova Can't Raise Out Danchev

Maria Konnikova raised to 2,400 in middle position and Dimitar Danchev called in the small blind.

Konnikova continued for 2,000 on the A♥8♥7♦ flop and Danchev raised to 6,500. Konnikova called and the J♠ fell on the turn.

Danchev then bet another 6,500 and Konnikova again called. The river was the 5♦ and Danchev bet 3,200, but this time Konnikova came back with a raise to 10,000.

Danchev took a minute before calling as Konnikova showed 3♥3♣, but Danchev had A♦Q♦ for top pair to win the pot.
