Sgorrano Checks to Induce

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Jerome Sgorrano raised to 25,000 from under the gun, Sebastian Malec three-bet to 80,000 and Sgorrano called.

The flop came 285 and Sgorrano checked. Malec continued for 57,000 and Sgorrano called. On the 10 turn, Sgorrano checked again and Malec sized up to 165,000. Sgorrano once again made the call.

The river was the 7 and Sgorrano checked for a third time. Malec weighed up a bet, using a time bank card before deciding to check back.

It was a wise choice, as Sgorrano tabled 1010 for a set of tens that he'd been checking to induce bluffs. In any case, Sgorrano still claimed a significant pot.

[Removed:533] raised to 26,000 on the button and Georgios Karakousis and Khossein Kokhestani called in the blinds.

La [Removed:534] continued for 28,000 on the Q86 flop and both opponents called. The turn was the A and La [Removed:534] bet another 130,000.

Only Kokhestani called this time and the 5 fell on the river. La [Removed:534] then moved all in, sending Kokhestani deep into the tank.

Kokhestani took several minutes and burned through most of his time banks before calling for 592,000. La [Removed:534] could only show K9 for a bluff as Kokhestani threw down A6 for two pair and slammed the table in celebration.

"He had a flush or nothing," Kokhestani said, snapping a photo of the board before raking in the massive pot worth 1,600,000.

Goeller Wins Full Pot With Kings, Busts Sandev

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Action was on the turn on a board of J103Q with around 180,000 in the middle and Georgi Sandev was already all in with less than one big blind.

Attila Ivacson checked and Andreas Goeller pushed all in for 233,000. Ivacson folded to give Goeller the lion's share of the pot and he and Sandev flipped their cards to play for the rest.

Goeller had KK for an overpair and straight draw. Ivacson showed 87 and was drawing dead. The river was a blank and Goeller claimed the full pot, sending Sandev to the exit.

Jerome Sgorrano

Action folded to Jerome Sgorrano who limped in from the small blind. Sebastian Malec then moved all in and Sgorrano snap-called for 319,000.

Jerome Sgorrano: AK All in
Sebastian Malec: A2

Sgorrano had sprung a successful trap on Malec as he had the EPT champion dominated. The J33 flop left open the possibility of a chop, while Malec picked up a straight draw on the 4 turn, but Sgorrano held on through the 7 river to double up.

Manuel Cortada

The rest of the table was already heading on break as Manuel Cortada raised to 20,000 in early position. Georgi Sandev then three-bet to 60,000 in the hijack and Cortada called.

The flop came 732 and Sandev continued for 26,000. Cortada called and the 7 fell on the turn.

Sandev then bet 55,000 and Cortada again called. The river was the 2 and Sandev bet 200,000, leaving himself just 5,000 behind. Cortada tanked for a minute and used a time bank before calling.

"You win," Sandev said, showing Q10 for a bluff. Cortada turned over 99 as he raked in the big pot, not even bothering to stack up the chips before joining the field on break.
