Shevliakov Holds With Aces to Double Through Jungevicius and Bust Gaehl

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Aleksandr Shevliakov
Aleksandr Shevliakov

Aleksandr Shevliakov open-raised from early position, Kestutis Jungevicius called in the small blind, then Sebastian Gaehl moved all in from the big blind for 430,000. Shevliakov called and Jungevicius also called to bring the pot to over 1,200,000 preflop.

Action slowed down as the flop came 997, both players still with chips opting to check. The turn came the 8 and Jungevicius pushed all in with a covering stack. Shevliakov quickly called for his last 420,000 and all three players revealed their hands.

Sebastian Gaehl: K10 All in
Aleksandr Shevliakov: AA All in
Kestutis Jungevicius: 108

Gaehl and Jungevicius both had straight draws, while Jungevicius also had a pair of eights. Shevliakov was in great shape with his pocket aces, though, and just needed a clean river to win a huge pot.

The river came a complete blank, the 3, so Shevliakov held to win the pot, doubling through Jungevicius to bring his stack close to 2,000,000 and eliminating Gaehl from the tournament.

Action folded to Nacho Barbero in the small blind who shoved all in for 270,000. Stoyan Obreshkov was in the big blind and called to put Barbero at risk.

Nacho Barbero: Q6 All in
Stoyan Obreshkov: A8

Obreshkov hit top pair on the AJ2 flop and Barbero was left drawing thin. The 5 turn meant Barbero was drawing dead going to the K river and headed off to the payout desk.

Rafael Navas was also eliminated shortly after losing most of his chips to Mateusz Moolhuizen.

Tytgat Survives With Short Stack, Then Busts in Big Blind

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Nicolas Tytgat
Nicolas Tytgat

Nicolas Tytgat had 20,000, less than one big blind, which he put in the middle from the hijack. Fahredin Mustafov completed his small blind for 25,000 in the small blind and Diego De Martino checked in the big blind.

Mustafov and De Martino then checked it all the way down on the flop, turn and river on a board of 8KQ3J and players revealed their hands.

Somehow, Tytgat had what he needed to survive. He flipped over AQ for a pair of queens. De Martino had a pair of queens with weaker kicker and Mustafov had nothing much. Tytgat tripled up, but he wasn't out of trouble yet and still had just a few big blinds.

A couple of hands later, following an open-raise to 50,000 from early position, De Martino three-bet to 170,000 from the button. Tytgat was in the big blind and commited to making the call for 60,000. Players flipped their cards.

Nicolas Tytgat: 93 All in
Diego De Martino: AA

The board ran out Q71042 and De Martino held with his pocket aces to win the pot, sending Tytgat out of the tournament.

Kestutis Jungevicius

Heads-up on a flop of KJ6, Kestutis Jungevicius bet 55,000 from the hijack and Julien Mariani raised to 125,000 in the big blind. Jungevicius then moved all in and Mariani quickly called for 325,000.

Julien Mariani: K6 All in
Kestutis Jungevicius: A10

Mariani had flopped two pair, while Jungevicius was on a straight draw. The 7 turn left Mariani poised for a double up, but Jungevicius spiked the Q on the river to make his straight and send Mariani to the rail.

"Sorry," Jungevicius told Mariani.

"Don't say you're sorry. You're not sorry. You're the monster of the table. No luck, only skill. You can see the future," tablemate Miguel Capriles added.
