In the 1,002nd episode of the PokerNews Podcast, which is sponsored by WPT Global, host Chad Holloway and Mike Holtz are coming to you from a new location — the Venetian Poker Live studio in Las Vegas!
That's because they're doing a special episode devoted to all things Venetian, including a thorough recap of the Venetian Summer Deepstack Championship Series. Find out all about the numbers, including entries, prize pools, and overlays, and some of the bigger winners, both in terms of name recognition and six-figure scores. That includes Bruno Furth, Andrew Ostapchenko, and Jim Collopy.
Oh, and Tony Miles also won a title. Did you know the former WSOP Main Event runner-up was on reality TV? Indeed, he was a competitor on American Ninja Warrior, and he even had a big prop bet against Shaun Deeb. Chad and Mike talk a bit about it, as well as some of the summer cash games on Venetian Poker Live. One big three-way hand involved Michael Mizrachi, Chino Rheem, and Isaac, while another sprang out of Joe's Game. See clips of both in this episode.
Finally, Chad and Mike look back at Episode #1,000 and share some of their favorite moments from the special event.

The PokerStars Sunday Million is heading back to the live felt.
PokerStars has announced the return of Sunday Million Live, with the iconic online tournament making just its second live appearance when it heads to Casino di Campione in Italy from October 2-12.
Featuring a €250 buy-in Main Event with a €1 million guaranteed prize pool, like the original format, the tournament will use a hybrid setup, allowing players to qualify through both online and live Day 1 flights before converging on the shores of the Lago di Lugano for the business end of proceedings.
It marks the first time Sunday Million Live has been held since its inaugural outing in 2017 and forms part of ongoing celebrations at PokerStars, with the operator celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026.
No fewer than 350 poker players will earn the right to call themselves world champions this fall when the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) returns to PokerStars from September 6-30.
For 25 years, WCOOP has represented the pinnacle of online tournament poker. This year's festival continues that tradition with 121 events spread across High, Medium, and Low buy-in tiers, creating hundreds of opportunities for players to win a WCOOP title.
