Manuel Ferrari opened to 500,000 on the button with 10♣9♦, and Xiaosheng Zheng responded with a three-bet shove for 4,100,000 from the small blind with A♠4♣. When the big blind folded, Ferrari quickly followed suit, returning his cards to the dealer.
The PokerStars Sunday Million is heading back to the live felt.
PokerStars has announced the return of Sunday Million Live, with the iconic online tournament making just its second live appearance when it heads to Casino di Campione in Italy from October 2-12.
Featuring a €250 buy-in Main Event with a €1 million guaranteed prize pool, like the original format, the tournament will use a hybrid setup, allowing players to qualify through both online and live Day 1 flights before converging on the shores of the Lago di Lugano for the business end of proceedings.
It marks the first time Sunday Million Live has been held since its inaugural outing in 2017 and forms part of ongoing celebrations at PokerStars, with the operator celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026.
Manuel Ferrari opened to 500,000 in the cutoff. Xiaosheng Zheng flat-called on the button, enticing Lukas van Eeden to jam all in for 4,750,000 from the small blind.
Ferrari quickly folded A♠3♥, but Zheng looked Van Eeden up after some thought.
Lukas van Eeden: A♦10♦
Xiaosheng Zheng: 9♥9♣
Van Eeden paired up on the 6♦6♥10♣ flop, leaving Zheng with just two direct outs.
Van Eeden, who had stood up to join his partner at the rail, sat back down as the Q♣2♦ turn and river did not improve his opponent, doubling him up to an eight-figure stack.
Lukas van Eeden raised to 500,000 from the cutoff with Q♠10♠, facing resistance from Manuel Ferrari, who, from the small blind, three-bet to 1,700,000 with A♣K♥. Van Eeden elected not to involve himself any further, folding his hand when the action returned to him.
The very next shuffle, Ferrari raised again, making it 500,000 to go on the button with K♦5♦. Xiaosheng Zheng called from the small blind with 7♥7♣.
The 4♦3♣2♣ flop saw Zheng check, and Ferrari continued with a bet of 600,000. Zheng called, and the dealer added the 3♥ to the board. There was no slowing Ferrari down, who, after Zheng checked, bet 1,800,000. Undeterred, Zheng called again.
The 2♠ completed the board, and Zheng checked a third time. This time, after using a time extension, Ferrari emptied the clip, moving all-in for 16,100,000, and having Zheng's 8,450,000 well covered.
Zheng utilised two time extensions while pondering how to respond, and as the second extension ticked down, he chose to let go of his cards, seeing Ferrari scooped in another pot with his king-high bluff.
Jose Criado found J♦J♣ in the cutoff and raised it to 500,000. Manuel Ferrari defended his A♥9♥ in the big blind, and the flop was fanned 2♥A♠4♥.
Ferrari checked in flow, with Criado responding with a continuation-bet of 350,000. Ferrari just called to the 10♠ turn, which he also checked.
Criado sized up to 900,000, and Ferrari called again. The Q♥ river prompted Ferrari to lead out with a bet of 1,700,000. Criado weighed his options for a bit, but decided a fold was best and mucked his jacks.
Level: 33
Blinds: 125,000/250,000
Ante: 250,000
Manuel Ferrari limped in from the small blind with J♠10♣ and called when Xiaosheng Zheng raised to 700,000 in the big blind.
The action checked through on both the 7♥6♦4♦ flop and the 4♣ turn. When the Q♣ completed the board, Ferrari quickly check-folded when Zheng bet 450,000.
Jose Criado opened to 400,000 in the hijack. Nicolas Chouity was in the small blind and pushed in his short stack of 1,575,000. Criado asked for a count before he called.
Nicolas Chouity: A♥10♥
Jose Criado: K♥J♥
The 6♦5♠7♣ did nothing for either player, but the K♣ turn gave Criado a pair to leapfrog Chouity's ace-high.
The 4♣ river could not save the last remaining EPT champion, and he finished in sixth place as the day's first elimination.
Xiaosheng Zheng raised to 450,000 from early position with 5♥5♦, and Lukas van Eeden responded by moving all-in for 5,075,000 on the button with A♠J♥. When the action folded back to Zheng, he folded.
"Sixes?" Van Eeden asked, and Zheng let him know just how close his guess was.
The first cards are being dealt on the live stream, meaning the PokerNews reporting will start up.
