With a raise to 12,000 from the hijack ahead of him, Benny Glaser three-bet to 33,000 from the button. In the big blind, Hamza Nasir cold four-bet to 90,000. The original raiser folded, but Glaser responded with a five-bet shove for 219,000, which Nasir called.
Benny Glaser: A♠A♦
Hamza Nasir: K♠K♦
There was no bad beat to be dished out, as the dealer spread a J♣6♥2♦Q♣7♥ board, and Glaser scooped in the double up.
Three-way to a K♦10♠Q♥ flop, small blind Derk van Luijk, Jacques Der Megreditchian in the big blind, and Fabiano Cappelli in the cutoff each put in 16,000.
The Q♦ turn then checked through to the 8♦ river, which Van Luijk also checked. Der Megreditchian bet 37,000, which Cappelli raised to 85,000. Van Luijk quickly got out of the way before Der Megreditchian moved all in for 182,000.
Cappelli immediately called, tabling 10♥10♣ for a full house. Der Megreditchian had a higher full house with K♥Q♠, however, and raked in a big double-up.
Over at an adjacent table, Joachim Haraldstad raised to 15,000 in the cutoff, leaving only 1,000 behind. Diego Zeiter called on the button, and Haraldstad's final chip was committed on the K♥8♣2♦ flop.
Joachim Haraldstad: K♣2♣
Diego Zeiter: K♠5♠
Zeiter turned a higher two pair on the 5♦, and the J♥ river spelled the end of Haraldstad's Main Event.
Benjamin Pollak raised to 13,000 from under the gun, which only Boris Kolev called in the hijack.
On the 3♦5♦8♣ flop, Pollak continued for 14,000, and Kolev stuck around again.
Both players checked on the 7♦ turn, and the dealer completed the board with the K♣.
Pollak assembled a bet of 39,000, and when Kolev kept him honest with a call, Pollak flipped over 9♥9♦.
That was good enough to claim the pot, as Kolev mucked his hand.
Nacho Barbero and Laurent Polito had gathered 38,000 in the blinds when they saw the 4♠2♣5♣ flop. Barbero placed a bet of 17,000, which Polito raised to 65,000. Barbero then moved all in for 121,000, and Polito snap-called.
Nacho Barbero: A♠A♦
Laurent Polito: K♥3♥
Polito's straight draw was not completed on the 10♠ turn or J♠ river, and Barbero's aces held for the double-up.
Over at another table, Julien Veyssiere pushed in his stack of 77,000 from the small blind. Emanvel Hovhannisyan called with a covering stack in the big blind, and the cards were tabled.
Julien Veyssiere: 5♥4♦
Emanvel Hovhannisyan: K♠10♠
The 9♠9♣A♠J♣7♦ runout brought no help for Veyssiere, and he swiftly exited the tournament area.
Manuel Braunhofer moved all in from under the gun for 81,000 and was put at risk when Raul Mestre called on the button.
Manuel Braunhofer: J♠J♥
Raul Mestre: 8♠8♣
Mestre, who has the second biggest stack in the room, was unable to find any help as the board ran out 6♦4♣10♥2♠Q♥ and Braunhofer doubled up.
Yao Xiang opened to 13,000 in middle position and called when Alan Ferraro made it 36,000 to go in the cutoff. Xiang check-called Ferraro's continuation-bet of 30,000 on the 7♠9♣A♠ flop, after which the 4♠ turn and 2♠ river were checked to showdown.
Xiang tabled K♠K♦ for a rivered flush, and Ferraro mucked his cards in defeat.
Over at another table, Lucas Blanco and Bernhard Binder were playing a three-bet pot worth 105,000. Blanco fired 42,000 from the small blind on the 2♣J♥A♠ flop, and Binder called on the button.
Blanco sized up slightly to 50,000 on the A♦ turn, enough to let Binder release his cards and take down the pot.
The action was picked up on the 6♦9♠3♣K♠ turn. Mehdi Chaoui checked from the big blind to Leonard Maue in the cutoff, who added 58,000 to the pot of 85,000 with a bet. Chaoui called, and the dealer placed the A♥ as the river.
Chaoui quickly checked again. After a while, Maue decided on a bet of 125,000. Chaoui instantly flicked in a calling chip for Maue to reveal J♦10♣ for a bluff.
Chaoui showed A♠7♠ for top pair, and he was sent the sizable pot to overtake his opponent in the chip counts.
Muhyedine Fares opened to 13,000 in the cutoff, and Charles La Boissonniere responded with a three-bet to 33,000 on the button. Next to act, David Lappin used a time extension before four-bet shoving for 149,000 from the small blind.
Fares folded, and La Boissonniere wasted little time in doing the same.
