Ribeiro Turns the Nuts to Double; Colavita Sends One Out
Carlos Ribeiro raised to 5,000 under the gun before Renato Minicuci three-bet to 13,000 in the cutoff. Raffaele Bellapianta called in the small blind, while Ribeiro also stuck around and called.
The flop came J♥2♠7♠ and Minicuci bet 12,000. Bellapianta called, but Ribeiro then raised to 32,000. Minicuci got out of the way, and Bellapianta took a few minutes before announcing all-in. Ribeiro quickly called for 66,500.
Carlos Ribeiro: A♠5♠
Raffaele Bellapianta: Q♥Q♣
Bellapianta was ahead with his queens, but the K♠ turn gave Ribeiro the nut flush. The river was the 3♠ and he doubled up.
"Why didn't you four-bet?" Minicuci asked Bellapianta, who was in no mood to discuss the hand and remained silent.
At another table, Mario Colavita had opened to 6,000 on the button, Juan Baraza shoved for 23,000 in the small blind, and Colavita called.
Juan Baraza: K♥10♥
Mario Colavita: A♣4♦
Colavita hit two pair on the A♥4♥J♣ flop, while Baraza picked up straight and flush draws. The 7♠ turn was no help, while the river was the 5♣ and Colavita held on to send Baraza to the rail.
