Mariani Frustrates Garshofsky on the River; No Limping on Abreu's Watch
Mitch Garshofsky raised to 150,000 in the hijack and Julien Mariani called in the big blind.
Garshofsky continued for 100,000 on the Q♣8♦4♦ flop and Mariani called. The J♥ turn was checked through, and the 8♠ fell on the river.
Mariani then bet 485,000, and Garshofsky called. Mariani showed 8♣5♣ for rivered trips, and Garshofsky slammed his cards on the table in frustration and began muttering to himself as he paid off the bet.
The next hand, Thierry Gogniat limped in from early position, while Garshofsky, Jessica Teusl, Casimir Seire, and Mariani also came along. The action then went on Jorge Abreu in the big blind, and he moved all in. All his opponents quickly folded.
Abreu allowed the table to pick one of his cards, and they chose the A♣. "If you have ace-king, do you call?" he asked Gogniat.
"No," Gogniat said with a laugh.
