Jimmy "gobboboy" Fricke is seated at the same table as Jani Sointula (Finland) and Rob Hollink (Holland). Hollink won the EPT Grand Finale for Season 1.
EPT Barcelona is officially underway. Blinds start off at 25-50 and will increase every hour with a break every two levels. Play will begin nine-handed and will drop to eight-handed on Day 2 and remain that way through the final table.
I took a quick walk around the tournament area and spotted 2007 WSOP bracelet winner Katja Thater, along with David Williams, Jimmy "gobboboy" Fricke, Betrand "ElkY" Grospellier, and Mark Vos.
The EPT has had a wild ride in its short three years of existence. The tour has grown exponentially, and you can follow along with all the action live from Barcelona as we bring you the European Poker Tour stop from Barcelona. The event is reportedly sold out, and the players were scrambling as we left the casino to win the last available seats in a super satellite. The Spanish keep late hours, and we’ll be right there with them tomorrow. Play starts at 5pm local time, and will go to 4 or 5 in the morning. Many big stars of poker will be there, and we look forward to bringing you all the poker – live from Barcelona. See you at 5pm Barcelona time (4pm London, 11am EST).
