Handbags at dawn

Munz telling Jorgenson to mind his manners
Munz telling Jorgenson to mind his manners
Table 17 is not for the faint hearted.

I walk over to the table because a crowd is forming and Simon Munz is screaming the words "Queen Nine!" at the top of his voice. Nick Slade, two seats to his left, stands up and starts telling Munz to behave himself. He then proceeds to tell the tournament director to quiet Munz down, which he does.

The very next hand Munz limps and Slade raises to $2000, Munz calls.

Flop is {K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Check check

Turn is {8-Hearts}

Check Check

River is {5-Diamonds}

Munz Checks and Slade bets $2000.

Now, Munz is thinking for about...30 seconds, when Theo Jorgenson who is in seat 2 calls time..... he isn't even in the hand! The tournament director says no.

Munz now does wait for a long time and eventually the tournament director calls a 1 minute clock. Slade at this point is putting on a bit of Hollywood, shaking his hands nervously and smiling at Munz.

Theo Jorgenson is now telling Munz to hurry up, Munz is telling him to be quiet. With seconds to go Munz calls and shows {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

Slade shows {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

Munz then scoops up his pot and taps Slade on the shoulder and tells him "I'm going for a pee".

We'll be keeping a close eye on table 17.

Clock!!

Ben Grundy is not happy. He just got involved in an 18K pot where he faced a bet for 4K on the river and he only had 6K left. After he had thought about his decision for a couple of minutes the dealer called clock on him. This is consistent with the EPT rule #32."Once a reasonable amount of time has passed......" which players in the UK and Ireland would not be used to, as normally only another player at the table can call clock. Grundy folded his hand and made a bet with the dealer that the rule was nonsense. He now owes her €100.

Bustout

Eddy Scharf is out at the expense of one of the chip leaders, Miroslav Sima. Eddy did get a double up with {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} Vs {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and then set his sights on playing pots with the aggressive Sima. He decided to call a raise with {A-Spades}{7-Spades} and hit an Ace high flop with two spades on it. All the chips flew in and Sima turned over {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. No Flush for Scharf and the only German to hold two Wolrd series bracelets in gone on level 3.

It's Murder out there

They're dropping like flies on Day 2. The play generally has been much more aggressive and I've seen much bigger pots on the earlier levels than in the previous day. Some big names have bitten the dust. Bad Boy, Eric Molina has also left the building. I couldn't find Ben Grundy and we thought he'd gone but he's actually been moved to Barny Boatman's seat. The tables aren't being broken the same way as yesterday which means its not easy to tell what has happened when we see an empty spaces..

German poker Hero Eddy Scharf is struggling on 3800 but as usual he is smiling and tells me he is going nowhere just yet.

Ram Update

I've just had a chat with Lechman Maros, the young man that eliminated Ram Vaswani. Lechman 300 raised from late position and Ram reraised him to 1100 from the cutoff, Lechman calls.

Flop is {Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Lechman checks, Ram bets just over half the pot, Lechaman Calls.

Turn is a {5-Hearts} - Ram goes all in, Lechman Calls.

Ram has {A-Spades}{5-Spades}

Lechman has {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

Not sure what the river was but Ram didnt improve and Crazy Horse has gone out to pasture.

Hendon Mobbed

In a very short space of time, Barny Boatman and Ram Vaswani are both heading for an early bath. Barny was short stacked and his top pair {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} was busted by a flush draw, unsure at the moment how the hand played out or what the flop was as yet.

Nobody seems to know what happened to Ram but he was busted by Lechman Maros on his immediate right.

De Wolfe makes positive start

Dublin EPT champion Roland De Wolfe is up to 14,500.

I'm uncertain of the action up to the river, but on a {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs} board it was checked to Roland and he bet 600 into a 1200 pot. He was check raised to 2800. He eventually called with {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the nut flush and his opponent turned over {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and not the full house that Roland feared.
