Gustaffagone!

Ronnie Gustaffson has just been eliminated. His {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} came up against {A-Spades}{K-Spades}, and the board brought {8-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, counterfeiting his pair.

We have reached the pay bubble now. Unfortunately, the media has no access to the floor at this time, so we cannot update the chip counts for many players that have already been eliminated.

Ruthenberg in Reverse

The German has lost a third of his stack in the last hour or so, but is among the leaders with approximately 200,000.

We are currently playing hand for hand until the bubble boy is announced.

The Bubble is Not for Bursting

We've just had two more short stacks survive an all-in scenario on the bubble simultaneously. We are unsure as to what the hands were exactly, from our limited vantage point, coupled with the fact a huge crowd is hanging around each table. Nevertheless, the bubble ain't bursting any time soon.

Wow

Philip Yeh opens on the button for 18,000 and Jesper Witved moves all in for just 6,000 more from the small blind.

{K-Spades}{8-Hearts} for Yeh vs. {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for Witved.

{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}, Yeh goes ahead.
Turn {9-Diamonds}, no help for Witved.
River {10-Spades}, giving Witved the nut straight.

Cheers go up in the press room and Witved, who qualified for this event with 400 Stars Frequent Player Points, punches the air in delight as he survives being knocked out on the bubble.

Witved Back in the Game

Surviving the bubble has really helped Jesper Witved's confidence.

Four players see a flop with a board of {Q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Spades}.

Witved bets $15,000 and everyone folds, Witved shows {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}.

He has come from the brink of extinction to genuine contention, having won four of the last six hands.
