Mercier Sends Mahmudov Home

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Rufat Mahmudov was all in with the {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} against the dominating {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} for Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier.

The flop came {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} to keep Mercier in front, and the {5-Clubs} kept him there as well. The turn did give Mahmudov a flush draw, though, and he needed a club or a nine on the river to double up.

The {8-Hearts} landed on the end, and that was the end of the line for Mahmudov. Mercier took the pot and moved his stack up to 318,000 in chips.

Adda Cracks Kings and Doubles

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Vitaly Lunkin raised preflop, and Ariel Adda reraised all in for 80,000. Lunkin quickly called with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}, and Adda had the {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. The board ran out {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs} to give Adda the double.

"Kings never seem to re-suckout after they get cracked," commented Jason Mercier.

Adda doubled to about 175,000, and Lunkin was left with a healthy 695,000.

Lundmark Eliminated

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Alexander Roumeliotis had {A-}{Q-} and Kent Lundmark had {5-}{5-} in this all-in preflop clash. Lundmark stayed in front on the {9-}{8-}{6-} flop and the {9-} turn, but the {6-} river card double-paired the board and counterfeited him. Roumeliotis won the pot and climbed to 988,000 in chips by busting Lundmark.

Bubble Bursts: Dong Kim Eliminated

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

After three players doubled on the bubble, amongst them Dan Smith and Jacob Ohlund, Dong Kim wasn't going to get so lucky.

Ami Barer opened to 20,000, and Vladimir Troyanovskiy made the call. Dong Kim squeezed all in from the blinds for 73,000, and Barer made the call. Troyanovskiy folded and the cards would soon go on their backs.

Ami Barer: {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Dong Kim: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop was still pretty save, but the {K-Diamonds} on the turn was anything but that for Kim. The {5-Hearts} fell on the turn and the tournament lost its 56th place finisher with Dong Kim.

The remaining 55 players are guaranteed €18,900.

Danzer Calls With Ace-High

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

On a {5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{Q-Clubs} board, there was 241,000 in the pot already and Fedor Holz in the small blind had the decision. Holz bet out 101,000, and Danzer went into the tank. "You know I have ace-high!" said Danzer at one point.

Danzer thought for a long time, so long that big stack Juha Helppi asked for the clock after some time. The floor came over, but before the minute finished Danzer had made the call.

"Good call" said Holz while showing {K-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Danzer slammed {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} on the table and took it down.

Rasulov Tripples Near the Bubble

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Timothy Adams opened under the gun to 20,000, and Yves Boschetti made the call two positions down.

Action folded to Agshin Rasulov in the big blind, and the player from Azerbaijan shoved all in for 70,000. The big blind folded, but both Adams and Boschetti made the call.

The two checked the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} board, and Rasulov was quick to show his {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. That hand won, as Adams showed {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Boschetti flashed {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}.
