Chorarai Mistake Leaves Shak Unimpressed

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

Dan Shak opened the action from late position and call a 57,000 shove from Kamal Choraria. The blinds folded and the cards were on their backs. Skack had {a-Spades}{j-Spades} versus the {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} of Choraria much to the surprise of the table.

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Choraria had his double up. Shack didn’t look too happy and he was even less impressed when Choraria told the table, “I misread my hand. I thought I had queens. I turned it over and what the f.”

Neumann Surges

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We missed the pre flop action, but on {Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs} we saw Miguel Chaparro lead out for 13,000 from the small blind. The big blind folded, but Marko Neumann in the cutoff made the call.

Chaparro didn't fire again on the {5-Diamonds}-turn, but he did call Neumann's 27,000 bet. The {7-Diamonds} hit the river and Chaparro checked. Neumann bet 85,000 and minutes passed before Chaparro eventually called.

He wished he didn't in hindsight most likely, as Neumann showed {Q-Spades}{5-Spades} and left him with 87,000.

Break

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Another level in the books, another twenty minutes break for the players.

Russian Outta Here

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Former EPT winner Max Lykov just lost the classic 43-57 race, his {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} failing to beat Ismail Kalkan's {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The Russian packed up and headed to the rail after the turn of the {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} board.

Lundmark Jacks It In

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Kent Lundmark was all in and at risk holding {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. It didn’t look good as he had been called by Team PokerStars Pro Jan Heitmann holding {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

A final board of {10-Clubs}{q-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs} sealed his fate and he joined the growing throng heading for the pay-out desk.

Vas Nunes Vanquished

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The end of the line for one of the few remaining British players in the tournament. Paul Vas Nunes shoved with {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs} but found Andrew Dean behind him with {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}. The board was {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} as yet another player busted, there's less than 200 players remaining now.

Schemion Busts

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Ole Schemion hadn’t played a hand until the bubble burst. He started the day with 82,400 and squeezed each card before folding. His frustration was at times etched on his face as he looked down at each unplayable hand.

When the bubble did burst he found a quick double up but not long after that he was all in with {a-}{10-} and was called by {a-}{q-} and {k-}{k-}. No miracles on the run out and the German superstar headed off. It won’t be long before he is back though as the High Roller starts here tomorrow in Barcelona and PokerNews will bring you full coverage.

Bubble Bonus?

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Randal Flowers just made a comment about the guitar and seat sit-n-go that the five players who busted on the bubble are playing for: "Whoever wins this is going to make more overall than like the next 30 spots."
