Double for Dato

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

On the turn of an {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{Q-Spades}{7-Clubs} board, Dominik Panka was happy to get the chips in with {A-Spades}{J-Hearts} against Andrea Dato but the Ialian held {K-Spades}{10-Spades} for a straight with a flush redraw.

The river was the {4-Clubs} and Dato doubled up.

Zhang Busts Two In Huge Pot

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Pedro Marques opened for 40,000 and to his left was Marko Neumann who shoved all in for 442,000. Ji Zhang hung his head and looked like he was agonising over the decision, looking over his shoulder at the tournament clock as if making calculations before moving all in as well for 700,000. Marques wasted little time in calling to put his stack of 600,000 at risk.

Zhang wanted to make sure that Marques had called and the cards were on their backs. Neumann had {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, Marques had {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Zhang’s acting exploits were explained when he turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}.

The cards ran out {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and Zhang punched the air as he scooped a huge pot and busted two players.

Ivey Stories: Phil Ivey Gets Slapped by Daniel Negreanu

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

For another edition of Ivey Stories we caught up with EPT Live commentator Joe Stapleton who went out for a crazy night of partying with Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu during the Grand Final in Season 8. At the end of the night Negreanu ended up slapping Ivey no less than twice and Stapleton tells us the story behind it.

Finger Out

Martin Finger
Martin Finger

Martin Finger has been eliminated shortly after running {q-}{q-} into the {a-}{a-} of Kiryl Radzivonau.

Nothing came on the flop, turn or river that could get him out of this cooler and he was left with just a few big blinds which were committed soon after to no avail.

Garberg Deals a Brutal Beat to Senft

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Markus Garberg opened to 42,000 preflop and it was passed to Philippe D'Auteuil who made it 90,000. Maximilian Senft then moved all in from the small blind and Garberg called off his stack. D'Auteuil folded.

Senft: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Garberg: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The flop came {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Garberg was already drawing to running cards, the {6-Hearts} turn gave him a flush draw and the {10-Hearts} on the river completed the flush, the Norwegian somehow managing to survive.
