Soussan Triples; Di Stasio Falls

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

When we arrived at the table, we found Yves Soussan all in and at risk before the flop for his last 28,000. Giuseppe Di Stasio was next to act and he moved all in over the top for 36,700. Action folded all of the way around to Javier Rodriguez in the big blind who thought for a moment before tossing out a call.

Soussan: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Di Stasio: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Rodriguez: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The board came out {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}{J-Clubs}{K-Spades}, putting three spades on the board and giving Soussan the victorious nut flush. Unfortunately for Di Stasio, the king on the river ensured that Rodriguez made the second best hand with a pair of kings. Di Stasio was eliminated from play and Rodriguez took down the small side pot.

With this triple up, Soussan is up to about 95,000 in chips.

Tjauw Foe Eliminated

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Clyde Tjauw Foe
Clyde Tjauw Foe

We ran into Clyde Tjauw Foe as he was on his way out the door. The Dutchman told us he had squeezed all in for his last 41,000 holding {A-}{K-}. The initial raiser had {J-}{J-}, made the call, and flopped a set on {A-}{K-}{J-}. Tjauw Foe of course still had some outs, but none of them materialized on the turn or river.

Carey Rides the Heater

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

"It is just the heater," Owain Carey said to table neighbor Carlo Savinelli. The Italian had flat-called a min-raise of Carey out of the small blind and Ognjen Sekularac also called in the big blind. On the {7-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} flop, the action was checked to Carey and he made a continuation bet of 7,700. Only Savinelli called and they checked down the {3-Spades} turn.

Carey got 15,000 chips off his opponent after the {9-Spades} river when he paired up his {J-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} whereas Savinelli had to show {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} first after trying to steal the pot.

Check Raise the River

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Aliaksei Boika opened before the flop and got just Eugene Katchalov in the big blind to come along and see a flop.

Katchalov check called a bet of 6,000 on {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades} and both players checked the {A-Clubs} on the turn.

Katchalov checked a third time after the {4-Hearts} appeared on the river. Boika made a bet of 12,000 and must have been a bit surprised after Katchalov check raised to 40,000. Boika thought for some time before releasing his hand.

Gabriel Nassif
Gabriel Nassif

Gabriel Nassif was down to his last 35,000 chips when he got the stack in with {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} against the {J-Clubs} {J-Spades} of Miroslav Alilovic. The PokerStars Team Online Pro turned a flush draw on top of his over cards but couldn't get there anymore.

Huge Double For Nassar

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Firas Nassar was under the gun and opened with a raise to 6,000. Action folded around to Luca Giovannone in the small blind and he announced that he was all in without any hesitation. The big blind folded and Nassar wasted no time calling for his own tournament life of approximately 115,000.

Nassar: {K-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Giovannone: {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}

Nassar was in a commanding position with his pocket kings and it stayed that way through a {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts} run out. Nassar scooped the massive double and now has about 235,000 in chips. Giovannone, on the other hand, has fallen to 195,000.

Schwippert Busts Kwaysser

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Jan-Eric Schwippert looked up a very short-stacked Valdemar Kwaysser with {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} and the Hungarian was at risk with {A-Hearts} {9-Spades}. The {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} turn gave Schwippert the nut straight and the {6-Diamonds} river put an end to Kwaysser's run in the Main Event.

Reard Doubles And Evard In the Thick Of It

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Alexandre Reard opened under the gun and Robert Schulz went for a three-bet. He would soon throw his cards away in annoyance though as first Francois Evard four-bet from the small blind and then Reard moved all in. Evard made the call.

Evard had {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Reard {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

The cards ran out {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and a double up for Reard saw Evard reduced to just over 20,000.

When Marton Czuczor opened the next pot for 6,000 and Evard shoved it looked like he felt priced in and called with {j-Spades}{9-Spades}. Evard tabled {2-Spades}{2-Clubs} and he watched as he tried to dodge Czuczor’s cards on a final board of {10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. He did to double up.

Parlafes Doubles Through Danchev

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Dimitar Danchev opened for 5,000 and called Dany Parlafes big blind shove for (what we thought was just under) 45,000. Danchev was the proud owner of {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} while Parlafes had {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Danchev was just about dead on the flop of {10-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. The {5-Clubs} on the turn made Danchev officially drawing dead and the {9-Clubs} was there just to make things official.
