Small Break

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The tournament is down to 16 players, and so a redraw is taking place. Instead of stopping play for the day, the organization decided to play this level out. Expect more action from Deauville in a couple of minutes.

David Van den Berg Eliminated in 17th Place (€25,010)

David Van Den Berg
David Van Den Berg

Andrius Bielskis opened to 40,000 under the gun and next door neighbor Benjamin Buhr made the call. David van den Berg in the big blind came along for the ride and the three of them saw a flop.

{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Van den Berg lead out for 35,000 and Bielskis raised to 78,000. Buhr now three bet to 183,000 and action was back on Van den Berg. The Dutchman shoved all in for 720,000 without hesitating too much.

Bielskis let out a big sigh. He wasn't happy and it showed. Van den Berg sipped on his beer in the mean time, not looking too worried. After about a minute of thinking Bielskis let it go. Buhr instantly called as soon as Bielskis' cards hit the muck.

Van den Berg: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Buhr: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Buhr got up from the table in full excitement, Van den Berg took another sip and just waited calmly. The {10-Spades} on the turn was a brick and so was the {3-Diamonds} on the river. Van den Berg shook hands with Buhr and made his way to the payout desk.

Parlafes Makes Flush

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Georgios Kapalas made it 45,000 from the button and Dany Parlafes called to see a flop from the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of {7-Spades}{K-Spades}{10-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {J-Hearts} hit the turn. Parlafes bet 58,000 on the turn and Kapalas dropped out a call. The river was the {9-Spades} and Parlafes continued his aggression with a bet of 145,000. Kapalas reached for chips and spent a few minutes in the tank before dropping out a call. Parlafes showed {J-Spades}{3-Spades} for a spade flush and was awarded the pot.

Benjamin Pollak opened with a raise to 45,000 from under the gun and Joseph Carlino three-bet to 125,000 from the button. The flop came down {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and Pollak check-called a continuation bet of 150,000.

Fourth street brought a third queen to the board with the {Q-Clubs} and both players checked. The {5-Clubs} hit the river and Pollak checked for a third time. Carlino did the same and showed {A-Spades}{K-Spades} for a winning ace-king high.

Carlo Savinelli raised to 32,000 from middle position and it folded over to Julien Duveau on the button. Duveau three-bet to 80,000, the blinds folded, and Savinelli called to see a flop.

The dealer fanned {3-Spades}{9-Spades}{J-Hearts} and both players checked to see the boar pair on the turn with the {9-Clubs}. Savinelli fired 125,000 and Duveau stuck around.

The {3-Clubs} put two pair on the board on the river and Savinelli cut out a bet of 400,000. Duveau instantly called only to see Savinelli roll over {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for quad nines. He was awarded the pot and now has about 2.19 million to his name.
