Trickett Drops A Bit

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Pablo Fernandez opened for 10,000 on the button and Sam Trickettt defended his big blind.

Heads up to a flop then of {7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} where Trickett check-called a 15,000 bet. They both checked the turn {8-Diamonds} and when a {q-Hearts} completed the community cards Trickett led out for 25,000. Fernandez took his time but he did make the call.

Trickett turned over {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} but lost out to the {a-Hearts}{7-Spades} of Fernandez.

Filatov Confuses Mateos

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Adrian Mateos was involved in a hand with Anatoly Filatov that prompted a few comments from another player on the table.

Filatov was on the button and bet a very small 9,000 on the turn of a board reading {5-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Mateos looked a bit confused but nevertheless he made the call.

The river card was the {4-Spades} and Filatov, who had 100,000 behind, bet 53,000. Now mateos looked even more put out but he threw out the call irritably. Filatov turned over his straight {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and picked up a decent pot.

“Dirty. Even bad players get lucky sometimes.” the player to Filatov’s right said, but he wasn’t bothered as he was getting a massage and staking chips.

Marvin Rettenmaier
Marvin Rettenmaier

With over 60,000 already in the middle, Sergi Lloveras and Marvin Rettenmaier both opted to check the turn of a {Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} board. Lloveras then checked the {5-Hearts} river as well and Rettenmaier thought for a minute before moving all in. Lloveras quickly called.

Rettenmaier: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Lloveras: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

A big double for the German, who is one of only three Germans left in this event.
