In an unexpected turn of events Rainer Kempe from Germany has taken the chip lead, and while we didn't see where he got most of his chips he did win one big pot off Marvin Rettenmaier just now.

when we walked up to the table and Kempe check-called a bet of 2,300 from the big blind. Rettenmaier was seated in the cutoff and on the turn the
popped up. Kempe lead for 5,800 and Rettenmaier tanked for quite a bit before making the call.
The river brought the
and Kempe lead out for 13,500 into Rettenmaier who took several minutes to make up his mind.
Eventually Rettenmaier called and looked disgusted when Kempe showed ![]()
for a rivered pair of jacks. Rettenmaier plays on with a small stack while Kempe sits on the biggest stack in the room.

We arrived in time to see Leo Margets, Jamie Burland, and a third player looking down at a board of ![]()

. Margets had first action and she checked over to Burland. he fired out 3,500 and the button quickly folded.
Margets thought for a moment before reaching into her stack and moving out a check-raise to 8,300. Burland pondered for a bit but ultimately opted to lay his hand down. Margets took down the pot and has now eclipsed the 80,000-chip mark.

Jennifer Shahade, PokerStars Mind Sports Ambassador and holder of the FIDE chess title Woman Granmaster, is a deep thinker as well as a quick wit. She was on a table with Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott yesterday and was moved to comment after one of Ulliott’s jokes, “If you’re gonna be sexist, please be funny.”
Shahade opened the action from first position and picked up one caller in big blind Joni Jouhkimainen. The flop was ![]()

and Shahade responded to a check from her opponent by manoeuvring out a bet of 4,000. Jouhkimainen made the call and the turn card

saw Jouhkimainen put out a bet of 3,700 which saw Shahade study the board for a couple of minutes before surrendering her cards.
Pablo Garzon Lobato raised to 2,000 preflop before Darie Vlad made it 4,700 in position. Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody then four-bet to 10,100 from the buttton. Lobato folded but Vlad made the call.
