Spindler's Search For No. 2

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Benny Spindler
Benny Spindler

Benny Spindler's one of Germany's most successful poker players with $4.2 million in live tournament cashes alone and it looks like he's going to add quite a lot to it here in London.

Spindler has been on a roll lately and that means he's still alive to become the first ever winner of two EPTs in the same city after taking down this event in 2011 for £750,000.

Just now it was Canadian Marco Caza who raised to 17,000 and Chris Moorman called from his immediate left. Spindler called from the button and the flop brought out {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Caza fired out another 38,000 and that got Moorman to fold while Spindler made the call.

The turn brought the {10-Spades} and Caza fired out 58,000 and Spindler once again called. The board completed on the river when the {6-Clubs} popped up and Caza check-folded when Spindler took control with a bet of 100,000.

Deadman Table Boss

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Simon Deadman
Simon Deadman

Simon Deadman is wielding his stack to good effect, chipping up nicely. First he called a 8,000 open from Benjamin Roberts and the big blind came along to see a three-way flop of {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Roberts continued for a bet of 23,000 but that didn’t shake the other players off.

The turn card {8-Spades} was checked around and on the river {q-Diamonds} a small 15,000 bet from Deadman picked up the pot.

Deadman opened the next pot for 16,000 and Kevin Killeen defended his big blind. A flop of {3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} was checked and a turn card {2-Spades} saw Killeen check-fold to a 32,000 bet.

Next up was Alexander Trevallion defending his big blind from a Deadman raise. A flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} saw Deadman take it down with a continuation bet.

Give Me Your Grinders, Your Rich, Your Huddled High Rollers

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

London poker was once all about “The Vic”, the Grosvenor Casino on Edgware Road in central London which was once the only game in town. Then came the internet. In the years since London has become one of poker’s biggest hubs, a meeting point for refugees and exiles brought here by a legal climate still at odds with the poker zeitgeist. They come here hoping for a chance of making a living at the game and find when they get here that quite a few others have had the same idea, as the PokerStars Blog reports:

Lodden Doubles Through Mroczek

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

[Removed:119] opened to 17,000 preflop and was called by Jakub Mroczek before Team PokerStars Pro Johnny Lodden squeezed all in for 150,000. Bensadoun folded and Mroczek decided to give the Norwegian a spin.

Lodden: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}
Mroczek: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}

The board came {4-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades} and Lodden survived.

It’s not all serious stare downs and stack size questions at the EPT.

“Stop eyeballing my stack,” the diminutive German Artur Koren called over to Kevin MacPhee.

“Maybe I’m eyeballing you,” responded MacPhee.

“We had this conversation already.”

“Yeah, and we concluded I like them little and German,” MacPhee shot back.

Morozovs Exits

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Mihails Morozovs was getting a bit short and moved all in. It folded to Nicolas Chouity in the big blind who quickly called.

Another player pointed at Morozovs and emphatically said, “Ace-jack.” as he turned over {k-Spades}{q-Spades}. Chouity held {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} to which the table queried, “Aces again?”

A final run out of {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs} saw possibilities on the turn but in the end Morozovs was bust.

Neumann Takes a Huge One Of East

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

The board read {3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} when Jareth East checked to Marko Neumann who bet 155,000 chips when we walked up to the scene. East did not take too long and called after which his German opponent announced, "Nuts."

Neumann showed {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and he raked in this massive pot.
