Veiga vs. Panka: Only One Will Survive

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Prior to the break there was an elimination at the final table.

It happened when Diogo Xavier Veiga shoved his last 134,000 under the gun and action folded to PokerStars-Sponsored Player Dominik Panka in the big blind. He looked down at his cards, liked what he saw, and tossed in the chips to make the call.

Panka: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Veiga: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

The {9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop gave Panka a set, which left Veiga drawing to running straight cards. The {7-Clubs} turn kept that improbable hope alive, but the {5-Spades} river dashed it.

Noah Vaillancourt Eliminated

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Noah Vaillancourt
Noah Vaillancourt

Antonin Duda had open shoved from the small blind with {8-Hearts} {2-Hearts} and Noah Vaillancourt doubled with {K-Clubs} {J-Clubs} on a board of {6-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {J-Spades}.

Shortly after, Glib Kovtunov was in the big blind and got involved into a raising war with Vaillancourt, who opened the action from the button and ended up all in for 310,000 chips. Kovtunov called with the {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} and Vaillancourt was looking for a second double up in short time, holding the {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs}.

The {J-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} flop was a disaster though and both the {6-Hearts} turn and {8-Clubs} river brought no runner runner miracle anymore.

Shatilov Loses Flip to Smit

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Andrey Shatilov
Andrey Shatilov

In a preflop all in situation, Andrey Shatilov got his stack of 320,000 chips in after Dennis Kaj Smit had raised to 32,000 and Hossein Ensan made the call. Smit decided to shove himself with the superior stack and Ensan mucked his {K-Spades} {J-Spades} to set the following showdown:

Shatilov: {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts}
Smit: {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}

The {5-Clubs} {4-Spades} {8-Clubs} flop was good for the Russian, even giving him a gutshot straight draw. The {Q-Hearts} turn however improved Smit's hand and the {8-Spades} river bricked.

Brutal end for Johnson

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Mitch Johnson
Mitch Johnson

The chip counts show Hossein Ensan at 1.7million. He got there by getting lucky in eliminating Mitch Johnson and the Brit had an awfully unlucky level. He wrote on Facebook:

"Out 37th! Brutal back to back hands. JJ in pre vs 88 for 600k. Hits 8. Next hand get AK in on KQ49 vs KT, rivers a jack for 850k. Gutted."

As per Ensan, the German limped from the small blind after the player on the button had limped and Johnson raised to 42,000 from the big blind. Only Ensan called to see the {K-} {Q-} {4-} flop that was checked through. On the {9-} turn, Ensan checked and Johnson bet 80,000 with a stack of 300,000 in total.

Ensan deciced to jam against the short stack with {K-Clubs} {10-Clubs} and Johnson called with {A-} {K-} for the better kicker. The dealer burned and turned a jack on the river to give Ensan a straight and even bigger stack

He's 0Human0 After All

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Liviu Ignat
Liviu Ignat

Liviu Ignat's day has come to an end at the hands of Alexander Ivarsson.

He was in the big blind and three-bet all in for around 200,000. Ivarsson had raised and called with his {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Ignat opened {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and held on a {9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Clubs} board.

The very next hand he opened from the cutoff and barrelled on a {6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} board. Sam Chartier called all the way part from the river where the 215,000 bet was too hat for him to handle.

Montury Wins Big Flip

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

After a preflop raising war, Jean Montury was all in at and at risk for his last 446,000 with {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} and had a coin flip against the {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} of Jorma Nuutinen. The {2-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} flop immediately put a lock on the lead, however the {J-Diamonds} on the turn now provided chop and even winning outs for the Finn.

It was the {7-Clubs} river that let Montury double up and jump ahead of Nuutinen in the chip counts.

Smit Doubles With Back Door Straight

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Stefan Schillhabel defended his big blind against the raise of Dennis Kaj Smit and the two of them then got it in on a {3-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} flop. Schillhabel had {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs} for top two pair and the Dutchman held {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades} for the over pair and flush draw. While the diamond didn't arrive, the {Q-Hearts} turn and {J-Spades} river completed a back door straight instead.
