Sergeev first Seat Open

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Sergey Sergeev of Ukraine is the first seat open. He lost a big pot against Ihar Soika and then raised onto the big blind of Marc Daubach. The Belgian defended to see the flop of {5-} {2-} {3-} and the action was checked through. On the {8-} turn, Daubach bet 400 and Sergeev called before the {10-} appeared on the river.

Daubach bet 1,500 into a pot of 950 and Sergeev raised to 5,000 with a total stack of 11,000. Daubach moved all in with {10-Clubs} {5-Clubs} for two pair and Sergeev called off with the inferior {K-} {10-}.

Haxton Off To A Flyer

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

PokerStars Team Pro Online Isaac Haxton is off to a great start with nearly 50,000 chips. He seems to be playing a lot of hands in this first level and so far it’s working out for him while he chats to the table about betting on Spanish football.

In a recent hand Haxton had got to the river of a board reading {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and when he checked he faced a bet of 775. Haxton queried the amount and then flicked in a chip to call. He was shown the {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and said, “Nice hand.”

On the next hand the same player opened for 250 and Haxton was the sole caller. The flop of {2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{k-Spades} was checked and on the turn card {9-Clubs} Haxton bet 400. This time the pot was his.

Little Secrets

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Jonathan Little
Jonathan Little

Jonathan Little, author of the “Secrets of Professional Tournament Poker.” has brought his notebook today, no doubt looking to add to his wealth of knowledge.

Little was involved in an early hand in the big blind where he called a 350 raise from the player on the button. They went to a flop of {10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Little check-called a bet of 400. The turn {7-Diamonds} and river {5-Diamonds} were checked and Little showed {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs} to take the pot.

Early Hiccups for Hunichen and Watts

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Walking through the tournament area, we noticed a board of {2-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {6-Spades} {6-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} and Chris Hunichen had 2,400 chips less than he started with after the action was complete. He had defended his big blind and the flop was checked through. On the turn, he committed 425 and the river provided a bet of 775 and a raise to 1,650, which was called. "Big Huni" had a seven, but his opponent {7-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} for a full house.

Even worse was the start for Steven Watts. In the first hand he picked up pocket queens and three-bet a raise by Tadas Zukauskas from 300 to 800 and was called by the online qualifier on Lithuania. On a board of {6-} {6-} {6-} {2-} {2-}, he dropped 18,000 in chips to walk into the flopped quads of Zukauskas with {A-} {6-}.
