“This Is Ridiculous.”

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We passed by table six to see a bet of 6,500 in front of big blind Massimo Mosele and four cards in the middle showing {6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

Action was on Upeshka DeSilva and he had a long dwell up before making the call. The river card was the {4-Clubs} and Mosele went for more chips, betting 11,575.

“How much?” DeSilva asked and swept his hood back off his head, grinning and then laughing at the situation he had found himself in. “This is ridiculous.” He made the call though and Mosele tabled {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. DeSilva showed the reason for his dilemma, his {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

“I was like, nines or threes. Or a combo draw.” DeSilva told Mosele as he stacked a big pot.

No Action For Alex

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

On table 29 however there are only two players and Alex Goulder is one of them. You need three players to begin play. At first he was joking with the dealer to get the other stacks in play and then wandered around talking to his friends. He is now sitting patiently waiting for that elusive one more player. If you have a ticket for table 29, Alex wants you to get a move on!

With play going on for half an hour the tables are filling up and we’ve spotted a few more well-known players joining the action.

Kim Six-Bet Shoves

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We arrived at the table just as Brian Kim raised it up to 300 from the cut off. He was called by Christian Harder on the button before Jeff Madsen bumped it up to 1,100 from the small blind. With the decision back on Kim he four-bet to 2,800 as Harder got out of the way.

Madsen paused for a moment before reaching for his chips and splashing out another raise to 6,500. Kim was having none of it, announcing all in for just short of his starting stack. Madsen went into the tank for over a minute before finally releasing his hand.

Logan Bluffs Away Two Thirds of his Stack

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Walking past the tables to get a list of notables, one in particular with Glen Cymbaluk on it caught our attention. The Canadian cashed in the Main Event here in Prague two years ago and there was just a bigger pot going on between Baden Logan and Dmitry Nemirovsky. On the {9-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {9-Diamonds} turn, there were 5,225 chips in the pot in a battle of the blinds and Nemirovsky check-called a bet of 5,000.

After the {J-Clubs} river had completed the board, the Russian checked again and Logan fired 12,000 chips. Nemirovsky gave it some consideration but called and turned over {10-Spades} {9-Spades} for trips nines. Logan was caught with a six-high bluff as he returned {6-Hearts} {5-Spades}.

Where Are the Dealers?

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

At the start of the day there were players seated at table 79 and 80, but there were no dealers yet. When the shuffle up and deal had sounded there were no cards and chips flying in the air at those tables.

PCA 2010 winner Harrison Gimbel walked around asking someone from the floor staff what was going on. He was told the dealers would be there within minutes. While Gimbel and one other player outed their concerns with the situation, the dealers walked up with chips and cards in hand.

They missed maybe a minute of play tops, and someone laughed "I'm usually out by now!" Stephen Chidwick was one table over also on a table where no dealer was yet to be found. Last nights Super High Roller third place finisher didn't seem concerned though, he was just browsing on his iPad before a dealer reached his table as well.
