Andrew Chen Eliminated in 10th Place

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Andrew Chen
Andrew Chen

Leonid Markin raised to 60,000 and was called by Andrew Chen in the big blind to see the heads-up flop of {10-Spades} {3-Spades} {2-Spades}. CHen check-folded to a bet of 100,000 by the Russian.

The very next hand, Chen limped from the small blind and Stephen Chidwick tossed in five green T-100,000 chips. Chen was subsequently all in for what looked like 655,000 and Chidwick put the Canadian at risk.

Chidwick: {4-Spades} {4-Diamonds}
Chen: {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds}

The window card was the {4-Clubs} and the rest of the board ran out {5-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {8-Spades} to reduce the field to the last nine players. A redraw will now take place and then play resumes until the money is reached.

Jacobson Doubles

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Ivan Soshnikov - Martin Jacobson
Ivan Soshnikov - Martin Jacobson

The table folded around to Ivan Soshnikov on the button who looked down at his cards before slamming a stack of large denomination chips into the middle covering Martin Jacobson in the big blind.

Jacobson took one quick glance at his cards and snap called for his remaining 230,000 in chips.

Soshnikov: {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Jacobson: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Jacobson had the best hand which improved to a flush after the board ran out {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Markin Marking His Territory

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Andrew Chen opened the button for 60,000 and Leonid Markin made the call from the big blind.

Markin checked to Chen on {J-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and the Canadian bet out 58,000. Markin, as we know fond of small raises, pushed forward 116,000. Chen made the call.

The {9-Spades} fell on the turn and Markin checked. Chen raised an eyebrow and checked behind.

The {10-Spades} completed the board and Markin bet out 186,000. Chen thought about it for some time before tossing in a 25,000 chip to indicate the call.

Markin tabled {J-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for a flopped top pair which backed doored into a straight. Chen mucked.

Chen Versus Helppi

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Andrew Chen raised to 52,000 from under the gun and found a single caller in Juha Helppi out of the big blind. On the {5-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {6-Hearts} flop, Helppi check-called a continuation bet of 53,000 and then check-raised the {2-Diamonds} turn from 129,000 to 300,000 after considering his options for a good two minutes. Chen called with what looked like 280,000 behind and the two of them went to the {9-Hearts} river.

Helppi checked and snap-folded when Chen moved all in.

Markin Climbing

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Leonid Markin is playing a bit different than the other remaining players in the tournament. His raise sizes differ from the others. On the one hand they're a bit bigger before the flop most of the times, on the other hand his three bets are smaller.

Just now Stephen Chidwick limped the button for 24,000. Leonid Markin in the small blind raised it up to 52,000 and Kanit folded his big blind. Chidwick called, but folded to his neighbors 60,000 c-bet on {7-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

So far its working out for him, he has one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Jacobson Once Again Short

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Martin Jacobson raised to 50,000 from the button and Vladimir troyanovskiy called out of the big blind. On the {3-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} flop, the Russian check-raised from 50,000 to 115,000 and Jacobson called to see the {2-Diamonds} on the turn. Troyanovskiy bet 135,000 and was called before the {K-Spades} on the river triggered checks by both players.

Troyanovskiy showed {4-Hearts} {3-Hearts} and that was good enough to take down the pot.

Chen Takes One Down

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Andrew Chen claimed the blinds once with a raise the previous orbit and then raised to 52,000 from under the gun and was called by Mustapha Kanit in the small blind and Juha Helppi in the big blind. On the {7-Spades} {8-Spades} {8-Hearts} flop, the action was checked to the Canadian and his continuation bet of 52,000 did the trick.

Jacobson Triples

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

The action started with Vladimir Troyanovskiy raising to 50,000 from the cut off. Ivan Soshnikov made the call from the small blind before Martin Jacobson thought about his next move from the big blind. He then moved all in for 189,000 in chips and was called by both his opponents.

Troyanovskiy and Soshnikov then checked down the {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{a-Spades} board. Soshnikov rolled over his {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for two pair, but they were no match against Jacobson’s {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} which were tabled straight after.

The ace on the river sees Jacobson triple up to 567,000 in chips.

Chidwick Wins from Helppi

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened to 50,000 under the gun and saw Juha Helppi three bet to 162,000 from the small blind. Chidwick shoved all in and Helppi folded.

The next hand saw Helppi open the button for 50,000 and Chidwick call in the big blind. Chidwick check called a bet of 50,000 on {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and both players checked the {7-Hearts} on the turn. Chidwick then lead for 145,000 on the {8-Hearts} river. Helppi made the call, but mucked with a bit of a scornful laugh after Chidwick showed {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}.
