Sekularac Climbing Back

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Dan O'Brien started the day with a solid stack of chips, but the beginning part of his day saw his chips going everywhere but to him. On this hand, though, O'Brien won a nice pot off Ognjen Sekularac to chip back up to nearly 140,000.

Sekularac raised to 5,000 from the hijack seat before O'Brien three-bet to 16,400 from the cutoff seat. Sekularac called, and the flop came down {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Sekularac led for 12,200, and O'Brien made the call.

The turn was the {5-Spades} to pair the board, and Sekularac checked. O'Brien bet 17,200, and Sekularac folded.

Ummer and Jaka Bust from the Same Table

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

We don't have details on Per Ummer's exit but we know that Toby Lewis busted Faraz Jaka.

Lewis explained that he called an early position raise before Jaka squeezed from the big blind. Lewis called and the flop fell all threes. Jaka bet there and on the queen turn before he shoved the river when it came a ten. Lewis called all the way with pocket queens for a full house bettering Jaka's smaller full house with pocket tens. Ouch for Jaka.

Gregg Over 400K

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

From under the gun, JC Alvarado opened with a raise to 6,000. His only customer was Tony Gregg, the man who final tabled the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event twice (sixth in 2012, and second in 2009). He made the call from the cutoff seat, and the flop came down {J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Alvarado bet 8,800, and Gregg raised to 20,000. Alvarado called.

The turn was the {K-Spades}, and both players checked to see the {8-Hearts} land on the river. After Alvarado checked, Gregg fired 44,000. Alvarado tanked for a bit, then folded, and Gregg won the pot.

Wheeler Not Happy with Bilokur

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Jason Wheeler fired a bet of 21,000 on the {J-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop, and JC Alvarado folded. Alex Bilokur, winner of the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller, made the call, and the dealer added the {A-Diamonds} to the board on the turn. Both Wheeler and Bilokur checked.

The river completed the board with the {2-Diamonds}, and Wheeler led for a small 8,300. Bilokur called.

After Bilokur made the call, Wheeler tabled the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a pair of tens. Bilokur waiting for a couple seconds, then showed the {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}, and Wheeler didn't take too kindly to his pause.

"Nice slowroll, sir," commented Wheeler. "Very classy of you," he added. "Top notch."

Bilokur didn't say a word, but just collected the pot and moved to 200,000 in chips.

Chip Leader Watch

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov

German's, and specifically Igor Kurganov and Benny Spindler, are pretty good at these high rollers and ended up as the two biggest stacks last night.

Both have lost a little ground today but Spindler has recovered his position somewhat.

Spindler took a pot off a player in the hijack. He opened to to 4,200 and called when Spindler three-bet to 9,600 from the small blind. The flop fanned {7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {4-Diamonds} turn where Spindler led for 8,200. Call. Both players wenting back to checking on the {10-Spades} river and Spindler opened {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. The hijack mucked.

Kurganov, meanwhile, was busy being put in his place by Vanessa Selbst. The action was three-way to a {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop and Philip Sternheimer led for 4,200 from the small blind. Selbst called from the big blind before Kurganov raised to 13,500. Sternheimer folded but the Team PokerStars Pro three-bet to 34,500. Kurganov didn't like it and folded.

Sands Out

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

David "Doc" Sands has just been eliminated, and Dan O'Brien was kind enough to give us the details of what happened.

Vasily Klyukin raised to 5,000 and David "Doc" Sands called to see a flop of {8-}{4-}{3-} with two clubs. Sands checked, Klyukin bet 7,000, and Sands check-raised to 18,500. Klyukin went all in, and Sands called off for 65,000-70,000.

Sands held {A-}{8-} for top pair, and Klyukin had {J-}{J-} for an overpair. The turn and river blanked, and Sands was eliminated. Klyukin moved to 230,000 in chips.
