Moore In a Tough Spot

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

With Vitalijs Tarhanovs on just 15,000 chips, Chris Moore raised to 25,000 out of the small blind. Victor Sbrissa three-bet to 65,000 in the big blind, and Moore called.

The flop fell {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{q-Spades}, Moore check-called a 55,000-chip bet, and the turn brought the {5-Diamonds}. Moore checked, Sbrissa fired 75,000, and Moore begrudgingly folded.

Sbrissa: {k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Bilokur: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Bilokur held as the board rolled out {10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{a-Spades}{k-Spades}{4-Spades}, doubling to 415,000 chips.

Bulychev Busts; Time for the Bubble

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Ilya Bulychev - Busts short of the money
Ilya Bulychev - Busts short of the money

Ilya Bulychev, who bubbled the $1 Million Big One for One Drop, open-shoved for 71,000 from under the gun, and Philip Sternheimer called out of the small blind.

Bulychev: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Sternheimer: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Sternheimer flopped the world when the dealer fanned {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, taking away two of Bulychev's outs, and held as the turn and river came {4-Spades}, {6-Hearts} respectively.

With Bulychev's elimination, we are now down to 17 players and will play hand-for-hand until the bubble bursts.

The Huge Hand That Wasn't

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Vanessa Selbst opened to 20,000 from the cutoff, Toby Lewis called on the button, and Artem Litvinov defended from the big blind. The dealer fanned {2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, Litvinov and Selbst both checked, and Lewis fired 33,000. Only Selbst called.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}, Selbst checked again, and Lewis tossed out another 85,000. Selbst tank-called.

The river was a fourth heart - the {k-Hearts} - and Selbst checked a third time. Lewis checked behind, revealing {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Selbst showed {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a flopped set.

"What an awful runout," Selbst lamented. "Good thing you had a real hand."

Selbst was alluding to the fact that if Lewis didn't have a hand as strong as queens, he may have bluffed the river. He did not, however, and Selbst wasn't put into a tough position.
