Chip Counts at the Break

Levy Spikes an Ace, Doubles

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jason Mercier opened to 40,000 from early position, Grant Levy moved all in for 347,000 on the button, and John Juanda cold-called out of the small blind. Mercier folded.

Levy: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Juanda: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop changed nothing, but the {a-Diamonds} turned, giving Levy a pair of aces. The {6-Hearts} bricked off on the river, and Levy doubled.

"Nice hand," Juanda said.

"It played itself," Levy shrugged.

Mercier Four-Bets Again

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier raised to 40,000 under the gun and Steve O'Dwyer three-bet from the big blind to 120,000. Mercier went into the tank for a while before putting in a four-bet to 257,000.

O'Dwyer looked over at Mercier's stack and folded shortly after that.

Another One For O'Dwyer

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer raised to 45,000 and John Juanda called. The flop brought {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Juanda check-called 60,000. On the turn the {8-Hearts} hit and both players checked.

On the river the {Q-Clubs} hit and Juanda check-folded to a 150,000-chip bet.

Johnny Lodden (Day 4)
Johnny Lodden (Day 4)

Jason Mercier opened to 40,000 from the hijack seat, John Juanda called out of the small blind, and Johnny Lodden quickly defended from the big blind.

"I price you in?" Juanda asked Lodden, smiling.

The dealer fanned {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades}, both blinds checked, and Mercier continued for 51,000. Only Lodden called.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds}, Lodden checked again, and Mercier fired 142,000. Again, Lodden called.

A repeat deuce - the {2-Spades} - completed the board, and Lodden checked a third and final time. Mercier pulled out two stacks of blue T5,000 chips, added a few more on top, and slid forward 265,000. Lodden looked like he was in pain.

"This is your fault," Lodden told Juanda, who laughed.

"I had a good hand!" Juanda protested.

Lodden eventually mucked, and Mercier picked up the hand.

"I improved on the river," Mercier told Lodden. "But I didn't have a deuce."

King-Five Haunting Levy

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer led out for 75,000 on a board of {2-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Grant Levy called, and the river brought the {7-Spades}. O'Dwyer led out again - this time for 150,000 - and again, Levy called.

O'Dwyer tabled {k-Spades}{5-Hearts} for a pair of kings, and Levy unhappily mucked his hand.
