Day 1b Completed

Quentin Dellis Leads After Day 1b of the Eureka Rozvadov Main Event

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Quentin Dellis
Quentin Dellis

The second flight of the PokerStars.net Eureka Poker Tour Rozvadov €1,100 Main Event saw a total of 338 entries. After the completion of Level 10, only 132 survivors bagged up chips. Those unfortunate to bust had the option to immediately reenter and participate in Day 1c that kicked off at 10 p.m. local time with at least 90 players, and we'll have information on those that advanced there once play has been completed.

Quentin Dellis bagged up the most chips on Day 1b by claiming 201,100. The Belgian cruised with a bigger stack towards the end of the day and then took the chips of Markus Hofer during the last three hands to finish on top. Dellis had seven Hendon Mob results to his name prior to this event, with all of them representing final table appearances. The biggest cash took place during the UKIPT Dublin only a few weeks ago where he came sixth for a payday of €31,880.

Other big stacks to finish the day included Martin Ilavsky (174,100), Jean-Marc Jelk (168,100), Jonas Lauck (159,300), Amir Mozaffarian (157,300), and Feryat Toprakli (140,600).

Local player Yehuda Cohen finished the day with 135,600, followed by Dag Palovic (132,600) and Hannes Speiser (100,700). Season 5 runner-up Josef Pavelka advanced with 93,300 in chips.

Among those that failed to bag up chips for Day 2 so far were [Removed:4], Jan Nakladal, Petr Jelinek, €330 Rozvadov Cup winner Jaroslav Peter, Matias Ruzzi, Martin Kabrhel, Eureka 4 Rozvadov champion Martin Meciar, Marko Mikovic, Antonin Duda, Paul Michaelis, and recent World Poker Tour National Brussels runner-up Maria Lampropoulos. Most of them already jumped back into the turbo Day 1c heat with 20-minute levels in order to take another shot at this juicy prize pool.

So far, there are 557 entries when you combine Day 1a and Day 1b, but that number is guaranteed to change and the attendance for a Eureka Main Event in the King's Casino is likely to increase for the fourth year in a row. Last year, in Season 5, there were 664 entries and Raphael Wimmer emerged victorious for a payday of €99,685.

Full chip counts for Day 1c will be provided tomorrow morning, and the PokerNews Live Reporting team will continue providing coverage with Day 2 starting at 2 p.m. local time.

Dellis Busts Hofer at the End

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Markus Hofer
Markus Hofer

In the last three hands, Quentin Dellis bet the {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} turn out of the big blind for 11,300. Markus Hofer in the cutoff tanked and time was called, ultimately the Austrian folded. It would not take long for the duo to clash again and a three-way flop of {K-}{10-}{8-} with two hearts ultimately saw Hofer get it in with {K-}{J-} for top pair.

Dellis called with {10-}{8-} for bottom two pair and held up to vault into the lead.

Korber's Stack Carved

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Just before the last hands of the day were announced, the stack of Reimond Korber was sent over to the player in seat nine and that is Quentin Dellis. The Belgian also moved up to six digits, but will most likely have nothing to do with the lead after Day 1b.

Huge Uproar after Three-Way All In

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Yehuda Cohen
Yehuda Cohen

Lionel Clerc was all in preflop with the {A-Spades}{2-Spades} and got called by Emmanouil Saloustros and Yehuda Cohen. The fireworks of the last two active players started on the flop {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} with Cohen betting 12,000. Saloustros raised to 45,000 and then the confusion started with Cohen just saying call but later claiming he had pushed all in for 55,000.

The dealer proceeded with the showdown, as Saloustros showed ace-ten and Cohen had the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Both the y{3-Hearts} turn and {4-Clubs} river changed nothing whatsoever and initially it was ruled that Saloustros had to pay off the additional 10,000 chips difference. But tournament staff discussed the situation again, also based on player feedback, and Cohen had to give back the 10,000 chips.

Successful Bluff by Toprakli

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Feryat Toprakli has been staying under the radar as of lately but found a new home right next to fellow Berlin poker player Thomas Zurek. The latter just mentioned a big bluff by the fellow German that worked with a diamond-heavy board. Toprakli then shoved to enforce a fold and claim a pot worth 70,000 to cheekily show pocket fours only.
