Marto Doubles Through Schmitz

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

The pot was already quite big and Tonino Schmitz then put Luis Reis Marto all in for his tournament life on the river {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Spades}. Marto tanked for quite some time and called off for his last 56,400 with {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} to scoop the pot, Schmitz forfeited two of the precious green T-25,000 chips. The German had bluffed with six-seven suited.

Gann Gets Lucky with the Better Hand

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Andreas Gann was all in for 13,400 chips and got called by Martin Kabrhel from one seat over. Gann flipped over the {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and Kabrhel revealed {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}. The roller coaster board {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} gave Kabrhel a set on the flop but Gann a straight on the river.

Arifovsky: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

Gregory Luttke, Eimantas Vaicius and Thomas Trabousli have been eliminated. Schmitz Busts Raz

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

The action started with a raise to 5,300 and Tonino Schmitz apparently flat-called from the cutoff before Friedrich Raz three-bet to 18,200 in the small blind. Back to Schmitz, who asked "why so much?" before then eventually four-betting. Raz moved all in for what looked like 90,000 and Schmitz snap-called.

Raz: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Schmitz: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs} and that was it for the Swiss. At the same table, Oliver Heppchen has also increased his stack.

Palovic and Zipf Gone

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Robert Zipf
Robert Zipf

The start of the new level saw the departure of Dag Palovic and Robert Zipf, Marko Turnsek and Jan Demjan also headed to the rail.

Palovic flipped with pocket deuces against {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and a flop of {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{Q-} was no good news, a ten on the turn busted the Slovakian. Zipf had around 50,000 chips left with pocket jacks, but failed to hold up against the {A-}{10-} of an opponent.

Zipf three-bet to 15,000 and his opponent then asked for an exact count before jamming. The German called and an ace appeared right away on the flop.

Day 1a chip leader Daniel Karacic is still running as good and increased the stack.
