Ryan Feldman, co-owner of Hustler Casino Live, revealed on PokerNews' Life Outside Poker podcast that he was kicked out of the 2016 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event over a conflict of interest stemming from his employment at ESPN.
In the 16th episode of the podcast, host Connor Richards speaks with the producer/founder of the most popular livestream in poker history about why he was booted from poker's biggest tournament, along with numerous other topics such as sports journalism, interviewing star athletes, leaving ESPN to start a poker stream, founding HCL and putting together some of the most entertaining lineups in poker history.
This interview was filmed in July at the 2024 WSOP inside Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
Loris Corbelli opened to 4,000 from middle position and Jason Metz three-bet to 10,000 from the cutoff. It was folded back to Corbelli, who called.
Both players checked on the 10♦8♠6♣ flop and then Corbelli bet 6,000 after the A♦ landed on the turn. Metz studied Corbelli for a bit and made the call.
The 3♠ filled the river and Corbelli bet 12,000. Metz tossed KxQx into the muck face up and Corbelli was sent the pot.
A player in middle position opened to 4,000 and was called by the player in the cutoff. Yossi Hergan then shoved for approximately 30,000 on the button. The initial raiser called to put Hergan at risk and the cutoff folded.
Yossi Hergan: A♠K♦
Opponent: A♣Q♥
The board ran out 6♦7♥6♣3♠10♦ — keeping Hergan best with his king kicker and awarding him the double up.
Fabian Rolli opened to 3,000 from under the gun and Florian Pral shoved for his last 19,000 from middle position. Action folded back around to Rolli, who called to put Pral at risk.
Florian Pral: A♦K♣
Fabian Rolli: J♠J♥
It was a fair fight, but the 2♣5♦J♣ flop improved Rolli to a set of jacks and left Pral drawing to runner-runner.
The 2♠ turn left Pral drawing dead and an irrelevant 3♣ completed the board to make Pral's elimination official.
Loris Corbelli opened from middle position and Guillermo Gordo three-bet to 10,000 from the hijack. Action folded back around to Corbelli, who called.
Corbelli check-called a 6,000 bet from Gordo on the A♥9♣4♥ flop and then both players checked on the 4♦ turn.
The 7♦ completed the board and Corbelli checked a final time — prompting a 15,000 bet from Gordo. Corbelli slid his hand into the muck and Gordo dragged the pot.
