Matakis Cracks Adams' Rockets

Level 18 : 3,500/7,000, 875 ante

Ian "potamophobia" Matakis opened the hijack for 14,000. Timothy Adams made it 50,100 from the big blind. Matakis four-bet jammed for 203,814 and the players turned over their cards after Adams snap-called.

Ian "potamophobia" Matakis: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Timothy Adams: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Adams seemed primed to enter the top echelons of the leaderboard as he dominated Matakis.

However, this wasn't what the poker gods had in mind as the {6-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} ran out on the board to give Matakis a flush to best the rockets held by Adams.

Holz Doubles with a Straight

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 750 ante

Fedor Holz opened the button for 12,600 and was called by David Miscikowski in the big blind.

Miscikowski check-called a bet of 10,035 after the {10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs} came on the flop before he check-called again after the {j-Diamonds} came on the turn.

The {5-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Miscikowski checked once again. Holz jammed for 136,171 and Miscikowski snap-called.

Miscikowski turned over {j-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair but this was no match to the straight held by Holz with {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

Miscikowski had about eight big blinds after the hand but lost these chips as well when his {a-Spades}{7-Clubs} didn't hold against the {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} held by Chris Rudolph.
