Martynenko Doubles Szep

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Vlad Martynenko raised to 16,800 from the hijack and was called by David Szep in the big blind.

Both players checked the {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop and Szep checked again after the {4-Clubs} followed on the turn.

Martynenko bet 15,260 before he called a raise to 54,520 by Szep.

The {k-Spades} completed the board on the river and Szep jammed for 112,130. Martynenko paused before he made the call.

Szep turned over {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} for broadway to win the pot against Martynenko's {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

While Szep survived and doubled, the same couldn't be said for Aliaksei Boika, who lost his short stack to leave 33 players remaining.

Muehloecker Eliminates Malinov

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Arsenii Malinov raised to 16,000 from middle position. Thomas Muehloecker three-bet to 44,000 from the cutoff before he called a four-bet jam to 233,354 by Malinov.

Arsenii Malinov: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Thomas Muehloecker: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The {2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Hearts} did nothing to change Malinov's fate and Muehloecker added to his already impressive chip stack while Malinov will have to try during another opening flight if he still has hopes of making Day 2.

Meanwhile, Stephen Chidwick was eliminated at another table at around the same time to leave just 34 players remaining in the Day 1b field.

Plesuv Doubles Haxton

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Pavel "EzzzGame" Plesuv opened to 16,000 from under the gun. Isaac Haxton three-bet to 52,000 from the small blind before Plesuv four-bet jammed for more than the around 270,000 Haxton began the hand with.

Haxton made the call and the cards were revealed.

Isaac Haxton: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Pavel "EzzzGame" Plesuv: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Haxton's ladies held up on the {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} board to double up his stack.

Stephen Chidwick opened for 15,400 from under the gun before he called a three-bet jam by Arsenii Malinov from the small blind to 115,127.

Arsenii Malinov: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Stephen Chidwick: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

The {10-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{a-Clubs} board gave Chidwick two pair. Malinov improved to broadway to win the pot and take half of Chidwick's stack.
