Chris Moneymaker Eliminated in 4th Place ($10,080) (full)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Chris Moneymaker - 4th Place
Chris Moneymaker - 4th Place

Chris Moneymaker continued his epic slide right out of the tournament. It almost seemed there was nothing he could do to change his fate. He lost somewhere close to 600,000 chips in about 45 minutes after the dinner break.

During his last stand he shoved three times, and the third time was the curse.

First he was under the gun, shoved and everyone folded.

Second, he was in the big blind and shoved on David Lackey when Lackey limped the small blind. Lackey folded.

The third time, the action folded to him in the small blind. He peeled {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} and paused for a second. He shoved all in for 145,000 and Mike Sites snap called. Sites had {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and had Moneymaker dominated.

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}, teasing Moneymaker with the possibility of a flush, but ultimately closing the door and ending his main event run.

Chapman Gets Funky

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Mike Sites just folded a few moments after attempting to bet 125,000 on the river against Chris Chapman.

Sites opened the action with a preflop raise to 36,000 and Chapman called. The flop came {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and both players checked.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and Chapman checked to Sites who bet 55,000. Chapman called.

On the river, things got weird. Chapman took a moment after the {3-Hearts} hit the river. Sites seemed to think Chapman had checked so he stacked up a bet.

"One twenty five," Sites said beginning to push his bet forward.

The dealer reminded Sites that Chapman hadn't acted yet. Chapman then took another moment before he bet 125,000. By rule, Sites would have been committed to his 125,000 bet for acting out of turn, but Chapman changed the action and bet the same amount.

After thinking about it for a while, Sites folded.

Sites Doubles Through Lackey

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Mike Sites just doubled through David Lackey and is now the chip leader with three left.

Lackey limped preflop and Sites made it 40,000 to go. Lackey called.

The flop was {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Sites bet 65,000. Lackey raised an unknown amount and Sites shoved all in for 326,000 more. After some tanking, Lackey called.

Both players had top pair, Sites had the best of it with {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} against the {q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} of Lackey. The board kept Sites ahead and he earned the double up.

Not long after Mike Sites doubled though David Lackey, Chris Chapman had his turn.

The two players saw the flop heads up after a preflop raise. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and Chapman checked. Lackey bet 45,000 and Chapman raised to 145,000. Lackey shoved all in and Chapman called. Chapman showed {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a flopped diamond flush. Lackey had turned a straight, but was drawing dead to the flush with {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

After a big downswing, where he doubled up both Mike Sites and Chris Chapman, David Lackey has been eliminated.

Chapman raised to 40,000 from the small blind and Lackey shoved from the big with 164,000 behind.

Chapman decided to call.

"Okay, let's do it. I call." he said.

The two turned over their hands and Chapman was ahead with {a-Spades}{6-Clubs} against the {q-Spades}{7-Spades} of Lackey.

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} and that spelled the end of the road for Lackey. Chapman is now heads up with Mike Sites.

Mike Sites Eliminated in 2nd Place ($20,720)

Mike Sites - 2nd Place
Mike Sites - 2nd Place

After losing a massive all in shortly after heads up play began, Mike Sites was all in against Chris Chapman again for his tournament life.

Sites had {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} against the {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds} of Chapman. The board ran out for maximum, or at least some drama when it came {5-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. Chapman won the hand and the tournament with the ace on the turn.

Sites will take home $20,720. There was some short discussion of a deal before heads up play began, but the actual heads up portion of the tournament didn't last too much longer than the actual conversation.
