Wiggins Hits the Rail

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Minx Wiggins
Minx Wiggins

Minx Wiggins and Mike Melkersen played a hand to the river. On the river, Wiggins checked to Melkersen who shoved all in. Wiggins would be at risk if he decided to call.

Leading up to this, Wiggins check called all the way. He check-called the flop of {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts} for 6,000. He check-called the {3-Hearts} for 12,000 and now he checked when the river came {4-Spades}.

Melkersen had Wiggins covered by only a little with an all in bet of 25,700 into a pot of about 37,200.

"You know what?" Wiggins asked, "I call."

Melkersen flipped over two aces, {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and Wiggins dropped his hand into the muck.

"Good hand Mike," Wiggins said as he exited toward the rail.

Priest Fires Twice

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Peter Priest
Peter Priest

Five players saw the [jhc4s] flop behind a Josh Smith under-the-gun limp.

All players checked the flop and the {a-Diamonds} hit the river. Peter Priest led for 4,000 and got one caller, Scott Heiser.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and Priest led again, this time for the same amout, 4,000. Heiser called and Priest showed two pair with {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts} to win the pot.

Summers Doubles Through Vera

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Just before the break, Phil Vera and Dennis Summers got all in on the {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop.

The action started preflop when Chris Moneymaker made it 3,500 to go from early position. Mike Melkerson called before Phil Vera reraised, making it 8,000. Summers was next to act and he called in position. Moneymaker and Melkerson both called too.

The flop was {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Vera bet 20,000. Summers shoved all in for 57,100 more and the action folded back around to Vera.

"Oh shit," Vera said while contemplating his next move.

He called and was disappointed to learn that Summers had a set of tens with {10-}{10-}. Vera had {a-}{a-} and couldn't catch up when the board ran out {3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

Vera has just under 7,000 when the players come back from break.
