Wheeler Back in and Wins One

Level 8 : 300/600, 50 ante

Jason Wheeler just bought back in and we followed him to his table. On one of the first hands he raised to 1,350 and the player in the big blind called. The flop came down {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Wheeler continued for 1,350, and he got called again.

The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and both players checked.

On the river the {K-Spades} hit and Wheeler picked up the pot without showdown after betting 3,000.

Garry Gates's tournament has come to an end. He five-bet shipped {A-}{K-} for about 30,000 against Michael Laake, who had four-bet him with {A-}{Q-}. Laake hit a queen to win the hand, and Gates was sent packing.

Sabat's Elimination

Level 8 : 300/600, 50 ante

Eddy Sabat just got knocked out and we asked Tom Middleton for the details, and he was happy to share them with us.

After a raise Middleton called and Sabat called from the big blind. The flop brought out {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and the action was checked around.

On the turn the {8-Clubs} hit and Sabat moved all in for 5,600 and Middleton called holding {8-}{8-}. Sabat had {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and the river brought no help, and Sabat hit the rail.

Sands Wins a Flip Against Wheeler

Level 8 : 300/600, 50 ante

A series of raises between Jason Wheeler on the button and David Sands in the small blind led to Wheeler all in for about 17,300 with {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} against Sands' {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{A-Spades}, giving Sands trip aces to eliminate Wheeler, who re-entered shortly thereafter.

Raghavan Beats Maimone

Level 8 : 300/600, 50 ante

On the {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, Mike Dentale and Nick Maimone checked to Ravi Raghavan. Raghavan bet 2,600, Dentale folded, and Maimone called.

The turn was the {4-Clubs}, and Maimone checked. Raghavan fired 4,500, and Maimone called again. The river was the {3-Clubs}, and both players checked.

Maimone showed the {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a pair of nines, but that was no good against the {J-Spades}{10-Clubs} for Raghavan, who held top pair of jacks.

Sands with the Better Pair Against Wheeler

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Jason Wheeler raised to 1,100 from the cutoff seat, and David "Doc" Sands called on the button. The player in the big blind also called, and the flop came down {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. The first player checked, then Wheeler bet 2,400. Sands called, and the first player folded.

Wheeler and Sands then both checked the {Q-Clubs} turn card and {2-Spades} river card. Wheeler tabled the {K-Spades}{9-Spades} for a pair of nines, but Sands had the {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for a pair of jacks and won the pot.
