Michael Tureniec Eliminated in 5th Place ($67,943)

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Michael Tureniec
Michael Tureniec

Michael Tureniec moved all in for 1,150,000 from the cutoff and Aaron Mermelstein moved all in over the top from his direct left.

"How much you have?" Brady Bullard joked from the small blind, before folding with a wry smile on his face.

Tureniec: {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Mermelstein: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

"I folded tens," Bullard said, as the flop brought out {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}.

The {10-Hearts} hit on the turn, and Bullard yelled, "That's such a sick card!"

The {5-Spades} completed the board on the river and Tureniec was eliminated from the tournament.

Muehloecker Turns It

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Thomas Muehloecker pushed all in over a Brady Bullard 160,000-chip open and Michael Tureniec pushed all in over the top.

Bullard folded and it was Muehloecker's tournament life riding on the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} versus Tureniec's {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}.

The flop came {9-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, keeping Tureniec ahead, but Muehloecker spiked on the {a-Spades} turn. The {2-Clubs} river was no good for Tureniec, and Muehloecker doubled up.

Mermelstein Rides Again

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

Michael Tureniec made it 130,000 under the gun and Aaron Mermelstein called behind. The rest folded and they went heads-up to a {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop.

Both players checked, and after the {10-Spades} turn, Tureniec bet 380,000. Mermelstein called and the river was the {4-Clubs}. Tureniec bet 740,000 and Mermelstein called.

At showdown, it was the {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} pair for Tureniec, beaten out of the massive pot by Mermelstein's {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} two pair. With that, Mermelstein moved back into the chip lead.

Alexander Over Anderson, DJ Grabs the Lead

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 5,000 ante

One of the biggest and certainly longest hands of the tournament just played out, vaulting Dejuante Alexander into the chip lead.

It all started with Alexander making it 130,000 and Anderson calling in position. Big blind Bryan Piccioli called as well, then checked the {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop. Alexander bet 190,000 and Anderson was the only caller.

Alexander checked the {8-Hearts} turn, and when Anderson led for 265,000, Alexander went deep into the tank. He counted out a call, but then slid in a massive raise, making it 1,140,000.

It was Anderson's turn to tank now, and he took five minutes before asking why Alexander bet so big. Eventually the clock was called, and with just a few seconds left in the ten second countdown, Anderson pushed all in.

Alexander snap called for his tournament life holding the {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and trips with a flush draw was miles ahead of Anderson's {10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} two pair with a gutshot. The river was the {8-Spades}, fulling up Alexander, giving him a massive chip lead, and leaving Anderson the short stack at the table.
