HPT Meadows Main Event Ready For Action

After a week of Heartland Poker Tour action at the Meadows Casino in Washington, PA, the $1,100 HPT Main Event gets underway today at 2 p.m. local time.

Players will converge at 2 p.m. to battle for the premier event of the HPT stop in scenic southwestern Pennsylvania. The event will feature two starting days, with today being Day 1a and with Day 1b beginning at noon on Saturday. The starting stack for this tournament is 30,000 chips, with re-entry allowed for the first 10 levels of play. Each level on Day 1 is 40 minutes in length, with a 15- minute break scheduled every three levels (every two hours of play) and a 60-minute dinner break after level 9 (roughly 8:30 p.m.).

Play will continue until either 15 levels are completed or until 13% of the field remains, whichever comes first. The stopping point on Day 1a will determine the stopping point on Day 1b. Players are allowed to enter both flights and have the option of taking their best stack forward to Day 2.

Last year, the HPT Meadows stop featured a smaller buy in Main Event for $500, which attracted 450 entrants and was eventually topped by Terrence Mattison. The West Virginia native took home $42,821 for his effort a year ago.

PokerNews will be on hand to cover all the action from Day 1a, as well as the entirety of the HPT Meadows Main Event.
