Day 1a Completed
Day 1a of the $1,100 HPT Meadows Main Event is in the books after 10 hours of play where some 25 players survived out of the 116 total entries.
Out of the 25 that remained with chips at the end of the day, nobody had more than William Kridle, who ended with 326,000. Kridle gained a significant portion of his stack in the last level of the day when he woke up with kings to eliminate an opponent in a preflop all in.
Second in chips to end the day was MSPT champ Mike O’Neill, who bagged 290,000. He was spotted with a large stack pretty early on in the day and remained a consistent force in the room throughout play to end with an imposing stack.
Mike Iacovone (221,000), RJ Howard (219,000) and Gregory Brletich (204,000) rounded out the top 5 stacks at the end of the day.
One of the more incredible hands of the night occurred in the second to last level when Doug Krency flopped a Royal Flush to greatly damage the stack of his opponent, who only had a measly flush. That hand propelled Krency to finish the night with 192,000.
Several players who entered play on Friday that did not make it until the last bell included Greg Raymer and Craig Casino. Both of them will likely make another attempt at reaching Day 2 tomorrow.
The 25 players who survived the day will return to play Day 2 on Sunday, October 6 at 11 a.m. local time. They will be joined by the survivors of Day 1b which commences Saturday at 12 p.m.
PokerNews will provide all the updates on Day 1b to see who will make it to Day 2.
