to ensure the win for Boortz. Stacks were nearly identical and counted to be 58,100 for Boortz and 55,200 for Coelho, resulting in Coehlo being eliminated from the tournament in 21st place for Day 1a.

Carlos Lopez recently chipped up and won a pot that was the result of Terry Patten having been eliminated. According to Lopez, he raised to 6,500 and Patten called on his direct left. The player on Patten's left three-bet to 16,500 and Lopez four-bet to 32,000. Patten called all in for his last 31,000 or so and the other player called as well, giving Patten a chance to triple up and taking future action to a side pot.

Barry Faecher raised to 6,000 from early position and action folded around to Chris Tryba in the small blind, who went all in. Faecher asked for a count and the dealer had gotten to around 65,000 of his stack, which was most of it, before Faecher said, "screw it, I call."
