Boortz Coolers Coelho To Send Him Home

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Jon Coelho: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Bill Boortz: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Spades} to ensure the win for Boortz. Stacks were nearly identical and counted to be 58,100 for Boortz and 55,200 for Coelho, resulting in Coehlo being eliminated from the tournament in 21st place for Day 1a.

Ante: 3,000

Lopez at 185,000

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Carlos Lopez
Carlos Lopez

Carlos Lopez recently chipped up and won a pot that was the result of Terry Patten having been eliminated. According to Lopez, he raised to 6,500 and Patten called on his direct left. The player on Patten's left three-bet to 16,500 and Lopez four-bet to 32,000. Patten called all in for his last 31,000 or so and the other player called as well, giving Patten a chance to triple up and taking future action to a side pot.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Lopez shoved all in, getting a fold from his opponent.

Carlos Lopez: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Terry Patten: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Patten was in need of a non-diamond four to chop or running jacks to triple up. Luck was not on his side, however, as the board ran out clean and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Faecher Hits Gutshot on River To Chop

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Barry Faecher raised to 6,000 from early position and action folded around to Chris Tryba in the small blind, who went all in. Faecher asked for a count and the dealer had gotten to around 65,000 of his stack, which was most of it, before Faecher said, "screw it, I call."

Tryba turned over {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} with a little bit of a chuckle. Meanwhile, Faecher tabled {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} with less than a chuckle.

The flop and turn ran out {7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Faecher called for a five as the dealer burned and turned the river {5-Hearts} and the two took their money back, each playing the board with a seven-high straight

Balaban Doubles Through Crededio

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

A player limped in from under the gun and action folded around to Adrian Crededio on the button who raised to 9,200. The small blind folded and Igor Balaban three-bet all in for 69,600 from the button. The limper folded and Crededio got a count before announcing a call.

Igor Balaban: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Adrian Crededio: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Crededio wished Balaban a nice hand as he paid him off, bringing him just below the six-figure mark to right around an average stack in the tournament. Meanwhile, Balaban now finds himself with a healthy stack with less than two hours of play left in the night.
