Mueller Gets a Knockout

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Cliff Mueller saw action folded to him on the button and limped in. The player in the small blind went all in for a little over 20,000 and Mueller said that he had to call.

Cliff Mueller: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Opponent: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

"Okay," Mueller acknowledged as he saw he was on the barely minus-side of a coin flip. The board ran out in his favor, coming {9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and he secured the knockout, adding significantly to his stack along the way.

Grisham Showers Garner

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Matt Grisham just eliminated Mike Garner in a manner that Garner was likely not expecting. According to Grisham, Garner opened with a raise to 3,000 and Grisham called him on the button with {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

The flop fell {2-}{x-Diamonds}{x-Diamonds} to give him bottom pair with a flush draw and Garner fired a continuation-bet of 6,000. Grisham called, bringing the turn {2-Clubs} to improve his hand to trips. Garner fired a second barrel of 8,000 and Grisham shoved all in for 30,000 effective.

Garner called and tabled {8-}{8-}. He was at risk of being eliminated and in need of hitting one of the final two eights in the deck to improve to a full house to stay alive. The river was a blank and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Clinkscales Rides a Roller Coaster

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Rex Clinkscales had just doubled up an opponent and moments later caught up to relay the action.

A player in middle position limped in and the player on the button limped in behind. The small blind completed and he raised to 3,000. Two players called before the small blind folded.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Clinkscales bet 4,200. The player in middle position folded and the player on the button called. The turn came {9-Diamonds} and Clinkscales jammed for his opponent's effective 19,000. He was called.

Rex Clinkscales: {10-Spades}{6-Spades}
Opponent: {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Clinkscales was shocked to see that he got called by a pair of fours with wheel and flush draws. Nonetheless, he still had four outs but was unable to hit as the river came {a-Hearts}.

He then stated that the player who called him doubled him up the very next hand, bringing him back above the starting stack at the end of Level 7.
